Control hut

A low-poly wind and solar farm control hut at real scale: a white prefabricated building on a concrete plinth with a blue gable roof carrying a small solar module. It has a hinged blue door, barred windows, a wall air-conditioner, a green cable cabinet, a comms mast with dish and red beacon, and a windsock.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Control hut for the Wind and Solar Farm kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Wind and Solar Farm kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Clean power on open land. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, panel blue #2e67b8, grass green #3a883a, signal red #e90c0c, white dark #d7cebc, panel blue dark #1f457a, white light #f9f8f6, panel blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `windSpeed` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Wind speed" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the hut is 6.0 m long × 3.2 m deep with walls 2.7 m tall on a 0.3 m plinth (plinth 6.7 × 4.35 m); the roof ridge is at 3.8 m, the windsock pole at 5.0 m and the comms mast's beacon at 6.46 m. Units are metres, +Y up, and the door side faces +Z. The origin is the plinth's bottom centre, resting on y = 0. The GLB is static, carries no animation clip, and has 1,432 triangles in 36 meshes at the defaults (1,540 at 8 m length). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (10 of the 12). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat; recolour by name. windSpeed (the kit's 'Wind speed') sets the windsock's droop from limp at 0 to streaming level at 1, so it is a pose, not motion. hutLength (4.5–8 m) lengthens the hut and re-lays the front windows (1–3) and the roof module. doorOpen swings the door on its hinge (up to 100°), revealing a dark doorway; the hut has no interior. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the viewer rebuilds the scene. glb-lint reported 0 errors at the defaults and at the param extremes; its warnings are expected (one material per mesh, non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets, intended nesting of trims and fittings, and a 'scale' heuristic that expects 1 m objects). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes, and three-check and the GLB reload keep all 12 ids.

About the Control hut 3D model

Control hut is a free low-poly 3D model from the Wind and Solar Farm set. It measures 8.1 m × 6.5 m × 4.8 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,432 triangles across 36 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 131 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Control hut 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 131 KB: 1,432 triangles, 4,296 vertices and 36 materials, modelled in metres at 8.1 m × 6.5 m × 4.8 m.
Can I animate Control hut?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Control hut 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
