macOS opens it without a fight
The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID (team WG937QNZTU), built with the hardened runtime, notarized by Apple and stapled — so Gatekeeper accepts it on first launch. No right-click-Open, no xattr incantation.

Windows will warn you once
There is no Authenticode certificate yet, so the installer is unsigned and SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC” on first run. Choose More info → Run anyway, or check the SHA-256 below first — that is the stronger guarantee either way.

The app checks for updates itself and shows you what changed before anything downloads. Every update bundle carries a minisign signature the app verifies against a key baked into the build, so a tampered bundle is refused rather than installed — those are the .sig files on the release.
