Service truck
A low-poly maintenance truck for a wind and solar farm: a white cab with a red roof beacon, a service body with blue compartment doors and a red crane stowed along its top. In a seamless 10-second loop the wheels roll and steer, a compartment door lifts open, and the crane raises, swings out and settles back while a red pennant flutters in the wind.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Service truck for the Wind and Solar Farm kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Wind and Solar Farm kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Clean power on open land. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, panel blue #2e67b8, grass green #3a883a, signal red #e90c0c, white dark #d7cebc, panel blue dark #1f457a, white light #f9f8f6, panel blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `windSpeed` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Wind speed" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 6.6 m long (front bumper to rear step), 2.04 m wide over the body (2.42 m over the mirrors) and 2.57 m tall to the pennant tip (2.13 m over the cab roof, 2.26 m over the stowed crane). It sits on a 3.5 m wheelbase with 0.84 m wheels. The origin is at the bottom centre, the tyres rest on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. The exported model has 2,404 triangles. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 8 of the 12 are used (grass green, panel blue light, warm white and dark wood are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The baked clip scene-motion (10 s, seamless) moves only hinged and swivelling parts on their own pivots. For the first 4 s the wheels roll two whole turns on their axles while the front knuckles steer on kingpins through the wheel centres. Then the front-left compartment door lifts on its top hinge, the crane boom raises on its turret hinge, the turret swings outboard about its column and back, the boom settles on its rest post and the door closes by 9.6 s. The hook counter-rotates at the boom tip so it hangs plumb. The beacon spins five turns and the pennant flutters six cycles per loop. The body never moves. The GLB's static node pose is the frame the export was taken at (t = 2 s), so the wheels are mid-roll. Play or reset the clip for the rest pose. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. windSpeed (the kit's 'Wind speed' knob) sets how far the pennant streams out (it hangs at 0 and is near level at 1) and how hard it flutters. The flutter is baked into the clip at the default 0.5. wheelbase slides the rear axle and the arches under the fixed service body. boomLength sets the crane boom and moves its rest post. Both extremes of every param pass three-check. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 6 warnings: per-mesh duplicate materials, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, intended overlaps where trim is set into the body, parts flagged as detached because they rest on other groups, and a 'scale' heuristic that expects ~1 m (the truck really is 2.57 m tall). Its verdict line reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; a de-hyphenated copy of the plan passes. three-check accepts the hyphenated ids, and all 26 survive the GLB reload.
About the Service truck 3D model
Service truck is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Wind and Solar Farm set. It measures 2.4 m × 2.6 m × 6.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,404 triangles across 52 meshes, with 26 named parts and a baked animation (10.0 s). Download the 297 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Service truck 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 297 KB: 2,404 triangles, 5,496 vertices and 52 materials, modelled in metres at 2.4 m × 2.6 m × 6.6 m.
- Is Service truck animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (10.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Service truck 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
