Tracking panels
A low-poly 12 m single-axis solar tracker row: ten framed blue modules on a torque tube, carried by five steel piles with bearing yokes, a slew drive and a row controller. The module table rocks east to west and back in a seamless 8-second loop.
Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Tracking panels for the Wind and Solar Farm kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Wind and Solar Farm kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Clean power on open land. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, panel blue #2e67b8, grass green #3a883a, signal red #e90c0c, white dark #d7cebc, panel blue dark #1f457a, white light #f9f8f6, panel blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `windSpeed` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Wind speed" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 12 m long (x), 2.3 m wide (the module table) and 1.92 m high with the table flat, up to 2.67 m at full tilt. The torque tube axis is 1.6 m above grade. Kit snapping: the row runs along +X for a whole number of metres (the length param) and fits a 1 m grid. The origin is the west snapping end at x = 0, on the bottom and centred in Z. The tube stops 0.1 m short of each end, so rows placed end to end leave a 0.2 m gap. +Y is up, the modules face +Z at t = 0, and every pile stands on y = 0. The GLB has 2,004 triangles in 15 meshes and carries one 8 s clip, 'scene-motion'. In it only the table node turns, about local X on the tube axis: rotation = 50 degrees x cos(2*pi*t/8), so the first and last keys match. The base, drive and controller stay still. The node rest pose in the file is flat. windSpeed (the kit's 'Wind speed') is tracker wind stow: up to 0.55 the table sweeps its full arc, the arc then shrinks, and from 0.95 up it holds flat. The clip is baked at the default 0.5 (full 50-degree sweep). Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the viewer rebuilds the scene. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (8 of the 12). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. glb-lint reported 0 errors. Its warnings are expected: non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets, intended nesting of yokes, saddles and the drive on the tube, and the controller box counted as 'detached' even though it is bolted to the east pile through its bracket. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its id regex allows no hyphen. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes, and three-check and the GLB reload keep all 5 ids.
About the Tracking panels 3D model
Tracking panels is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Wind and Solar Farm set. It measures 12 m × 1.9 m × 2.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,004 triangles across 15 meshes, with 5 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 164 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Tracking panels 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 164 KB: 2,004 triangles, 6,012 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 12 m × 1.9 m × 2.3 m.
- Is Tracking panels animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Tracking panels 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
