Shop units

A low-poly two-storey row of three mall shop units. Each has a glazed shopfront with chrome mullions, a recessed entrance and a brand fascia, and the upper floor has a gallery with a chrome and blue-glass balustrade on slim columns.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Shop units for the Shopping Mall kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Shopping Mall kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A bright atrium with shops on two floors. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, glass blue #2e67b8, chrome #cad1d8, accent pink #e085a3, white dark #d7cebc, glass blue dark #1f457a, white light #f9f8f6, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `shopBrands` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Shop brands" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 18.66 m wide × 8.54 m deep × 10.04 m tall (two 4.5 m storeys, roof parapet and plant on top). The shop row is 6 m deep, and the upper gallery projects 2.4 m in front of it on columns. Origin is the bottom centre of the whole footprint, gallery included. It rests on y = 0 and the shopfronts face +Z. The GLB has 3,186 triangles in 38 draw calls (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. All 12 kit colours are used, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Glass is opaque, so the shop interiors are not modelled. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. shopBrands (the kit's 'Shop brands') works in steps: below 0.2 every fascia is a neutral white 'to let' panel; from 0.2 the fascias take brand colours (pink, glass blue, dark wood, soot black); from 0.45 blade signs stand off the pilasters; from 0.75 the stall risers and door frames match each brand. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings. Two are about the material count, both caused by the per-mesh materials. One flags overlaps where frames and panels are deliberately embedded in walls. One flags two roof meshes as detached; they rest on the walls and the plant boxes. The last compares the height with the direction's 1 m reference. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 9 survive the GLB reload.

About the Shop units 3D model

Shop units is a free low-poly 3D model from the Shopping Mall set. It measures 19 m × 10 m × 8.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,896 triangles across 36 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 168 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Shop units 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 168 KB: 2,896 triangles, 4,964 vertices and 36 materials, modelled in metres at 19 m × 10 m × 8.5 m.
Can I animate Shop units?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Shop units 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
