Kiddie ride

A low-poly coin-operated mall kiddie ride: a little open-top blue bubble car with a pink seat, steering wheel and tail fin, rocking on a pivot pedestal above a platform ringed with chase bulbs, with a coin post and brand topper at the back corner. It plays a seamless 6-second loop in which the car rocks, the wheels turn and the steering wheel swings.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Kiddie ride for the Shopping Mall kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Shopping Mall kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A bright atrium with shops on two floors. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, glass blue #2e67b8, chrome #cad1d8, accent pink #e085a3, white dark #d7cebc, glass blue dark #1f457a, white light #f9f8f6, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `shopBrands` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Shop brands" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.10 m tall to the topper lamp, 1.13 m wide and 1.63 m long including the rubber foot; the car itself is about 1.28 m long and sits with its seat about 0.7 m above the floor. The origin is the bottom centre of the platform, which rests on y = 0, and the car nose faces +Z. The GLB holds the rest pose and one baked 6 s clip, 'scene-motion'. In the clip the car rocks nose-up/nose-down twice (±6°) on the pedestal axle, both wheel axles turn two whole revolutions, and the steering wheel swings ±25° once on its column. Every pivot sits exactly on its axle or column axis. The platform, pedestal and coin post never move. The model has 1,670 triangles in 39 meshes and no textures. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name repeats across materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. rockAngle and steerAngle set the amplitudes of the baked clip. shopBrands (the kit's 'Shop brands') sets the size of the brand topper board on the coin post and its number of bars (1–3), and the number of livery stripes on the car sides (0–3). Both are abstract bars, not letters. At 0 the topper board is removed and only the lamp remains. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 advisory warnings: material count and duplicate materials (from the per-mesh materials), non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, and deliberate nesting (the axle runs through the clevis plates, the bulbs are set into the skirt). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 10 survive the GLB reload.

About the Kiddie ride 3D model

Kiddie ride is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Shopping Mall set. It measures 1.1 m × 1.1 m × 1.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,670 triangles across 39 meshes, with 10 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 173 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Kiddie ride 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 173 KB: 1,670 triangles, 5,010 vertices and 39 materials, modelled in metres at 1.1 m × 1.1 m × 1.6 m.
Is Kiddie ride animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Kiddie ride 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
