Escalators
A low-poly pair of shopping-mall escalators, one up and one down, with white trusses on a 30° incline, dark running steps, glass balustrades ringed by black handrails, and chrome landing plates. The steps run in a seamless 3-second loop.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Escalators for the Shopping Mall kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Shopping Mall kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A bright atrium with shops on two floors. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, glass blue #2e67b8, chrome #cad1d8, accent pink #e085a3, white dark #d7cebc, glass blue dark #1f457a, white light #f9f8f6, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `shopBrands` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Shop brands" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 3.08 m wide (x), 14.6 m long (z) and 5.98 m tall to the top of the upper handrail newels. The floor-to-floor rise is 5.0 m (matching the kit's escalator well) at 30°, with 1.0 m steps on a 0.4 m pitch. The front faces +Z: both lower landings are at the front on a 0.235 m chrome landing plinth with a short grey ramp, and the upper landing plates sit flush at y = 5.0 m at the back. The origin is the bottom centre, resting on y = 0. A pier under each upper landing and a slim column mid-span carry the truss to the ground, so nothing floats when you place it without an upper floor. The GLB has 2,992 triangles in 98 meshes and one 3 s looping clip, 'scene-motion', made of rigid translation tracks only. Each step is its own named node (the up_step_NN and down_step_NN parts; 68 at the defaults). In each loop every step travels three pitches (1.2 m at 0.4 m/s) along the step path, up on the left escalator and down on the right, so the frame at 3 s matches 0 s. Steps stay level, flatten to two level steps at each comb, and enter and leave under the landing plates, so hidden steps exist inside both landing housings. Trusses, balustrades, landings and supports never move. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; 8 of the 12 are used (warm white, white light, glass blue dark and dark wood are unused at the default). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name repeats across materials: recolour by name. The glass is alpha-blended (BLEND, 45% opacity) and double-sided; some engines need it set to transparent on import. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. shopBrands (the kit's 'Shop brands') hangs flat brand-colour panels on the two outer truss sides: none at 0, two per side at 0.5 and four at 1 (pink, glass blue, dark wood, glass blue dark). units sets 1 to 3 side-by-side escalators that alternate up and down. Both extremes rendered cleanly: units 3, 6.0 m, 0.6 m steps and shopBrands 1 gives 5,570 viewer triangles; units 1, 3.5 m and shopBrands 0 also rendered. three-check flags missing planned ids at the minimum only because the down escalator and brand panels are absent there by design. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicates (from the per-mesh export); sibling overlap (the deliberately embedded glass inside the handrail loop and the deck on the truss); 'detached' meshes (steps and upper-landing parts that touch other groups, not their siblings); and height against the direction's 1 m reference (5.98 m is the intended real size). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 16 planned ids survive the GLB reload.
About the Escalators 3D model
Escalators is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Shopping Mall set. It measures 3.1 m × 6.0 m × 15 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,992 triangles across 98 meshes, with 84 named parts and a baked animation (3.0 s). Download the 441 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Escalators 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 441 KB: 2,992 triangles, 5,020 vertices and 98 materials, modelled in metres at 3.1 m × 6.0 m × 15 m.
- Is Escalators animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (3.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Escalators 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
