Benches

A low-poly shopping mall bench with dark wood seat and backrest slats on bright chrome sled frames, wood-topped armrests and black floor glides. Two shopping bags in the mall's brand colours sit on the seat.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Benches for the Shopping Mall kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Shopping Mall kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A bright atrium with shops on two floors. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: white #f4f1ec, glass blue #2e67b8, chrome #cad1d8, accent pink #e085a3, white dark #d7cebc, glass blue dark #1f457a, white light #f9f8f6, glass blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `shopBrands` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Shop brands" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size: 1.80 m long × 0.61 m deep × 0.85 m tall, with the seat top at 0.46 m and the armrests at 0.67 m. The origin is at the bottom centre, the glides rest on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 528 triangles, no textures and no animation. It is the default state: length 1.8 m, 5 seat slats, a 0.36 m back and shopBrands 0.5, which shows two bags. shopBrands sets the bag count to round(shopBrands × 3): none at 0, then pink, then glass blue, then a white bag with a pink folded top. The bags are a separate part, so delete shopping-mall-benches.bags for a bare bench. A middle frame is added when length is 1.5 m or more. Params only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Material names match the kit palette colours. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a name such as chrome or dark wood appears more than once; recolour by name. glb-lint found 0 errors. It gave 4 heuristic warnings: material count, duplicate names, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, and parts that rest on other parts flagged as detached. plan-check rejects the hyphens in the slug-based part ids this library requires; three-check accepts them, and all 7 ids survive the GLB reload.

About the Benches 3D model

Benches is a free low-poly 3D model from the Shopping Mall set. It measures 1.8 m × 85 cm × 61 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 528 triangles across 11 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 61 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Benches 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 61 KB: 528 triangles, 1,584 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 1.8 m × 85 cm × 61 cm.
Can I animate Benches?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Benches 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
