Long-tail boat
A low-poly Southeast Asian long-tail river boat: a narrow plank hull with a tall upswept prow wrapped in cloth garlands, bench seats under a green sunshade, and a bare engine on a stern swivel post driving a long propeller shaft. It comes with a seamless 4 s loop of the tail steering side to side and the propeller spinning.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Long-tail boat for the River Delta kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the River Delta kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stilt houses and floating trade. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: muddy brown #43372d, palm green #3a883a, bright boat colours #b39d80, sky blue #2e67b8, muddy brown dark #15120e, palm green dark #235223, muddy brown light #6d5d50, palm green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the hull is 8.5 m long and 1.5 m in beam (1.76 m across the canopy eaves). With the long-tail out, the boat is about 11.4 m from the propeller to the prow. The sheer is 0.62 m up amidships, the canopy ridge is about 2.0 m, and the garlanded prow tip is the tallest point at 2.48 m. Origin: x is centred, y = 0 is the bottom of the keel amidships, and z is centred on the whole footprint (hull plus trailing shaft), so the hull itself sits about 1.25 m forward of the origin. The bow faces +Z. No water is included; set the boat into your own water surface at the waterLevel height. The GLB has 2,471 triangles in 24 meshes, merged per part and colour. It holds one baked 4 s clip, 'scene-motion', and the hull never moves in it. The long-tail group (engine, tiller and shaft) is pivoted exactly at the swivel pin on top of the stern mount bracket: it yaws ±8° about the vertical axis and lifts up to 2° about the horizontal axis through the same point (lift only goes up, so the propeller never dips below its rest height). The propeller is a child of the long-tail, pivoted at the shaft tip, and spins about the shaft axis, 8 whole turns per loop. waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') sets the waterline from 0.22 to 0.40 m above the keel: it moves the palm green boot stripe and tilts the long-tail so the propeller hub sits on that waterline. length sets the hull length (7–10 m), shaftLength sets the long-tail shaft (2.2–3.6 m) and canopyLength sets the sunshade (1.2–3.2 m). Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were captured by three-check; the param extremes were reasoned through in code but not rendered. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12; muddy brown dark is unused). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name repeats across materials: recolour by name. Fix rounds: (1) the prow post was enlarged and the garlands thickened so the prow reads at thumbnail size; the sky blue sheer strake was widened out from under the gunwale rail; a box skeg plate that read as a sign was removed, and the propeller blades were enlarged. (2) The front, top and back views were reframed. glb-lint: 0 errors and heuristic warnings only (material count and duplicate materials from the per-mesh materials, nested hull strakes overlapping, the swivel bracket and air filter flagged as 'detached' although they touch the mount post and engine block, and a height above the 1 m reference). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes on a copy with the ids de-hyphenated; its part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires, which three-check accepts and the GLB reload preserves.
About the Long-tail boat 3D model
Long-tail boat is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the River Delta set. It measures 1.6 m × 2.5 m × 11 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,471 triangles across 24 meshes, with 10 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 224 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Long-tail boat 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 224 KB: 2,471 triangles, 5,267 vertices and 24 materials, modelled in metres at 1.6 m × 2.5 m × 11 m.
- Is Long-tail boat animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Long-tail boat 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
