Ferry
A low-poly double-ended Mekong river crossing ferry floating on a patch of still river water: a green steel pontoon hull with raked spoon ends, a grey car deck with railings and tyre fenders, a long tan canopy on white posts, a raised wheelhouse with a funnel, scooters and rice sacks on deck, and a hinged loading ramp at each end. It comes with a seamless 8 s loop where the ferry bobs, the bow ramp lowers toward the bank and lifts back, and the flag swings.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Ferry for the River Delta kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the River Delta kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stilt houses and floating trade. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: muddy brown #43372d, palm green #3a883a, bright boat colours #b39d80, sky blue #2e67b8, muddy brown dark #15120e, palm green dark #235223, muddy brown light #6d5d50, palm green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

- Stern ramp (hinged at the deck end)

Note: Size: a 14 m hull with a 4.6 m beam and 0.7 m freeboard. The canopy eave is 2.35 m above the deck and the wheelhouse roof is about 4.7 m above the waterline. The model is 5.44 m tall overall at the default water level, and each loading ramp is 2.2 m × 3.0 m. The ferry floats on a still 7.6 × 19.8 m rounded patch of river water that rests on y = 0 (origin at its bottom centre, bow toward +Z). waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') sets the water surface from 0.25 m to 0.65 m, the River Delta river-tile range, and the whole ferry floats with it (default 0.45 m). The underwater hull is modelled to a 0.18 m draft so it stays inside that shallow water slab at every water level and pose; a real ferry this size would draw more. hullLength stretches the hull from 12 to 16 m, and the patch grows with it. canopyLength sets the roof span as a share of the hull. cargo sets how many scooters (0–6) and rice sacks (0–7) are on deck. rampSwing sets how far the bow ramp lowers in the loop. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults. Animation: one seamless 8 s clip ('scene-motion'). The hull heaves ±2.5 cm and pitches and rolls under 1° about its waterline centre. The bow ramp lowers from stowed (60°) to near-level and back about its deck-end hinge, the stern ramp nods on its hinge, and the flag swings on its staff. The water patch never moves. The GLB has 3,916 triangles in 33 meshes; three-check's 4.2k figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (11 of the 12; muddy brown light is unused). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names repeat; recolour by name. glb-lint reports 0 errors and only heuristic warnings: duplicate same-colour materials, non-indexed flat-shaded primitives, nested part boxes overlapping, scale versus a 1 m reference, and the flag flagged as 'detached' because its staff belongs to the canopy part. plan-check rejects the hyphenated slug part ids the library mandates; a copy with the ids de-hyphenated passes, and three-check accepts the hyphenated ids.
About the Ferry 3D model
Ferry is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the River Delta set. It measures 7.6 m × 5.4 m × 20 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,916 triangles across 33 meshes, with 9 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 423 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Ferry 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 423 KB: 3,916 triangles, 11,748 vertices and 33 materials, modelled in metres at 7.6 m × 5.4 m × 20 m.
- Is Ferry animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Ferry 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
