Conical hats

A low-poly set of palm-leaf conical hats from a river delta market: one hat standing on its brim with a green chin ribbon, a nested stack of three hats, and one hat turned upside down in a rope coil, catching rainwater.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Conical hats for the River Delta kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the River Delta kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stilt houses and floating trade. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: muddy brown #43372d, palm green #3a883a, bright boat colours #b39d80, sky blue #2e67b8, muddy brown dark #15120e, palm green dark #235223, muddy brown light #6d5d50, palm green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: each hat is 0.42 m across and 0.17 m tall at the defaults, which is a real nón lá. The whole set is about 1.0 m wide (x) × 0.95 m deep (z) × 0.24 m tall to the rim of the upturned hat. The origin is at the bottom centre, the set rests on y = 0, and the chin ribbon faces +Z. Hat shells are closed lathe solids with a 12 mm leaf thickness, so they have no missing back faces. waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') fills the upturned hat with rainwater, from dry at 0 to just under the brim at 1. At 0, the rainwater part is omitted entirely. hatDiameter and hatHeight resize all hats, and the layout scales with them. stackCount sets 1–5 nested hats. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults. The GLB has 2,260 triangles in 14 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. three-check reports about 2.6k triangles because that figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (8 of the 12 are used). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names repeat; recolour by name. glb-lint reports 0 errors and only heuristic warnings, such as the model being shorter than the 1 m reference, nested hats overlapping, and the rainwater flagged as detached (it sits inside the upturned hat, not on the ground). plan-check rejects the hyphenated slug part ids the library mandates; a copy with the ids de-hyphenated passes, and three-check accepts the hyphenated ids.

About the Conical hats 3D model

Conical hats is a free low-poly 3D model from the River Delta set. It measures 93 cm × 24 cm × 96 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,260 triangles across 14 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 172 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Conical hats 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 172 KB: 2,260 triangles, 6,780 vertices and 14 materials, modelled in metres at 93 cm × 24 cm × 96 cm.
Can I animate Conical hats?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Conical hats 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
