Locksmith
A slim, concentrating locksmith in his fifties in a Retro PS1 style: slate work jacket open over a navy polo, dark trousers, a belt hung with brass key rings, and a fanned lock-pick set in his right hand. Under 1,000 triangles, one 128 px pixel-art texture, rigged in T-pose on the shared Mixamo-named skeleton.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
A slim man in his 50s, about 1.75 m tall. Concentrating expression. Wearing a slate-grey work jacket over a navy polo shirt, dark trousers, and a belt hung with brass key rings. Palette: slate, brass, navy. Holding a small fanned lock-pick set in the right hand. Retro PS1 style. No text, logos, brand names or lettering anywhere.

Note: 805 flat-shaded triangles (split face normals, so the facets show in any engine), one embedded 128x128 PNG atlas with NEAREST min/mag filters and no mipmaps. Keep the sampler nearest in your engine (Unity: Filter Mode Point, no mip maps; Godot: Filter Nearest) or the pixel art blurs. All nine materials share the atlas and differ only by role name. The key rings and the lock-pick fan are alpha-tested (MASK, cutoff 0.5) double-sided cards. Crown at 1.75 m, soles at y = 0, facing +Z. 25 mixamorig bones, no finger bones (block left hand, closed right fist). Every bone has an identity rest rotation (world-aligned, the library convention), so retarget Mixamo or other clips by bone name with a rest-pose-aware retargeter (Blender, Unity Humanoid, Godot BoneMap, three.js SkeletonUtils.retargetClip) rather than copying raw Mixamo quaternions. Seven skinned meshes share one skeleton (one glTF skin each, same 25 joints). Each vertex has at most 3 weights, normalised, blended across short bands at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles; elbows and knees have one pointed vertex, PS1 style. Clothing uses the same weight functions as the body under it. The head is 100% on mixamorig:Head. The belt and key rings are 100% on mixamorig:Hips, so a strongly raised thigh can pass through a key ring. The lock-pick fan is 100% on mixamorig:RightHand. In three.js, GLTFLoader strips ':' and '.' from names (mixamorigHips, locksmithbody). No lights, cameras or animation clips. Checks: three-check PASS (24/24); glb-lint has 0 errors and 2 heuristic warnings (the materials look identical because they share one atlas; the clothing shells nest). It prints UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. scripts/rig-test.mjs PASS (20/20).
About the Locksmith 3D model
Locksmith is a free low-poly 3D model from the Trades and services characters set, rigged with a 25-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton. It measures 1.8 m × 1.8 m × 31 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 805 triangles across 9 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 148 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Locksmith 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 148 KB: 805 triangles, 2,367 vertices and 9 materials, modelled in metres at 1.8 m × 1.8 m × 31 cm.
- Is Locksmith animated?
- It ships without a baked clip, in its bind pose. It is rigged with a 25-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton, so it takes retargeted animation.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Locksmith 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
