How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Lamps for the Library and Study kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Library and Study kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall shelves and a reading chair. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mahogany #602b20, forest green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, parchment #e6d6b3, mahogany dark #26110d, forest green dark #235223, mahogany light #944738, forest green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bookColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Book colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.6 m tall. The shade is 0.46 m across at the bottom, the base 0.34 m across, and the side tray 0.4 m across with its top at 0.62 m. Origin: bottom centre, resting on y = 0. The books and pull chain face +Z. The GLB has 1,504 triangles in 16 meshes, is static and has no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The GLB lists some names more than once because the exporter clones materials per mesh. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. bookColours (the kit's 'Book colours') sets the share of book covers that come from the bright kit colours (greens, brass, mid grey) rather than leather tones. Covers are ranked from the top of the stack, so at 0.5 the visible top book is forest green. At 0 every cover is a leather tone, and at 1 every cover is bright. With books = 0 the tray is empty, bookColours has no visible effect, and the 'books' group is exported empty. Book meshes are named per colour (books.<colour>), so which ones exist depends on bookColours. height (1.4–1.8 m) moves the shade and tray, and shadeWidth (0.36–0.54 m) scales the shade and its height. Both extremes passed three-check: 1.8 m with a 0.54 m shade, 4 books and colours 1 (1,842 tris including the viewer ground); and 1.4 m with a 0.36 m shade, no books and colours 0. All turned parts are 6–12-sided lathes. The shade is a closed shell, so it has thickness from every angle. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings. These cover material count and exporter duplicates, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), and nested sibling boxes (the stem passes through the tray, the bulb sits inside the shade). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 11 planned ids. Fix rounds 1 and 2 changed the book covers: at default settings the stack had read as three near-black blocks, and the top book is now forest green.

About the Lamps 3D model

Lamps is a free low-poly 3D model from the Library and Study set. It measures 44 cm × 1.6 m × 44 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,504 triangles across 16 meshes, with 14 named parts. Download the 121 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Lamps 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 121 KB: 1,504 triangles, 4,512 vertices and 16 materials, modelled in metres at 44 cm × 1.6 m × 44 cm.
Can I animate Lamps?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 14 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Lamps 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
