How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Busts for the Library and Study kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Library and Study kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall shelves and a reading chair. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mahogany #602b20, forest green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, parchment #e6d6b3, mahogany dark #26110d, forest green dark #235223, mahogany light #944738, forest green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bookColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Book colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.77 m tall, 0.38 m across the shoulders and about 0.28 m deep, a slightly over-life-size portrait bust (the head is scaled 1.1× so the face reads at thumbnail size) on a 0.12 m socle and two books. It suits a shelf top, mantel or desk. Origin: bottom centre; the model rests on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 2,496 triangles in 11 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Each part is a group holding one mesh per palette colour (e.g. hair.parchment), and every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The face is a deformed low-poly sphere with a wedge nose and shallow eye sockets; there are no carved eyes or lips. The plaque and the book spines are blank: no text. bookColours (the kit's 'Book colours') sets the covers of the books under the bust: dark leathers at 0, then forest green, mahogany light and forest green light as it rises. At the 0.5 default the bottom book is forest green and the one above it is dark wood. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. books (0–3) sets how many books the bust stands on; at 0 the books part is left out and the socle sits on the floor. headTurn turns the head, hair and wreath about the neck. socleHeight sets the height of the turned socle. Both extremes passed three-check: colours 1 / 3 books / turn 35° / socle 0.18 m, and colours 0 / 0 books / turn −35° / socle 0.08 m. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected: the meshes are non-indexed because the facet normals are flat, the book pieces overlap their own covers, and the bust parts are reported as detached because they rest on parts in other groups rather than on the ground. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 8 planned ids. Fix rounds: (1) the chest read as an urn, so the shoulders now slope into the neck, the head is larger and the hairline is higher; (2) the brow curls hid the nose in profile, so they are smaller and tucked in and the nose is longer; (3) the drape stopped bluntly on the back, so it now runs down the back and tapers at both ends.

About the Busts 3D model

Busts is a free low-poly 3D model from the Library and Study set. It measures 38 cm × 77 cm × 28 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,496 triangles across 11 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 186 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Busts 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 186 KB: 2,496 triangles, 7,488 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 38 cm × 77 cm × 28 cm.
Can I animate Busts?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Busts 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
