Rugs
A low-poly library rug: a mahogany field with a dark green border band between brass guard stripes, a pale central medallion, fringe tassels on both ends, and one corner folded back to show the backing.

Left rail: colours and the 5 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Rugs for the Library and Study kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Library and Study kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall shelves and a reading chair. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mahogany #602b20, forest green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, parchment #e6d6b3, mahogany dark #26110d, forest green dark #235223, mahogany light #944738, forest green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bookColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Book colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2.4 m long (X) by 1.7 m wide (Z) and 12 mm thick, 2.54 m long with the fringe; the folded corner raises the top to 0.03 m. A typical study or reading-room rug that sits under a reading chair. Origin: bottom centre; the rug lies on y = 0 with its long sides facing front (+Z) and back. The GLB has 1,532 triangles in 14 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. Each part is a group with one mesh per palette colour (e.g. border.brass), and every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The pattern is made of flat 1.5 mm colour slabs stacked on the pile, not textures. bookColours (the kit's 'Book colours') moves the pattern from muted mahogany tones to the kit's greens and brass: at 0 the band, spandrels and medallion are mahogany dark and mahogany light; at 1 they are all green and brass (soot black, mid grey and dark wood are not used). The material set changes with bookColours, so the default GLB carries 7 of the 12 palette names. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. cornerFold starts at 0.1 m so the folded-corner part always exists. Both extremes passed three-check: colours 0 / 1.8 x 2.0 m / fold 0.5 m / fringe 0.12 m, and colours 1 / 3.2 x 1.2 m / fold 0.1 m / no fringe. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 warnings (14 materials over the direction default of 10, and duplicate materials, because the exporter writes one material per mesh even when meshes share a palette colour; non-indexed flat-shaded primitives; pattern slabs overlapping inside their part; and a 0.03 m height against the 1 m reference, which is expected for a rug). Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. Fix rounds: (1) the border motifs alternated by side instead of along each side, and the folded backing was mostly covered by a mirrored band, so it now shows only the guard stripes and reads as pale; (2) with cornerFold at 0 the fold part was missing from the GLB, so the minimum became 0.1 m.
About the Rugs 3D model
Rugs is a free low-poly 3D model from the Library and Study set. It measures 2.5 m × 3 cm × 1.7 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,532 triangles across 14 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 120 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Rugs 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 120 KB: 1,532 triangles, 4,596 vertices and 14 materials, modelled in metres at 2.5 m × 3 cm × 1.7 m.
- Can I animate Rugs?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Rugs 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
