Clock pendulum
A low-poly mahogany longcase (grandfather) clock with an arched parchment dial, brass finials and a glazed trunk door showing two brass weights and a swinging brass pendulum. A seamless 4 s loop swings the pendulum while the case stays still.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Clock pendulum for the Library and Study kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Library and Study kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall shelves and a reading chair. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mahogany #602b20, forest green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, parchment #e6d6b3, mahogany dark #26110d, forest green dark #235223, mahogany light #944738, forest green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bookColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Book colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2.31 m tall to the centre finial tip, 0.62 m wide and 0.36 m deep at the cornice. The trunk is 0.44 m wide. Origin is at the bottom centre with the dial facing +Z, and the bracket feet rest on y = 0. The GLB has 1,812 triangles in 27 meshes and carries one seamless 4 s clip, 'scene-motion'. Only the pendulum moves. It rotates about Z at its suspension point (0, 1.50, 0.03) inside the hood, where a brass bracket carries it, by swing·sin(πt + π/4): two 2 s swings per loop. The rod is 0.90 m from pivot to bob centre, so the swing is stylised and slightly faster than a true seconds pendulum. The case, dial, hands (fixed at ten past ten), weights and books never move. At the maximum swing and bob radius, the bob stays 6 mm inside the trunk walls. The door glass is the only 'mid grey' material and is transparent (opacity 0.3, depthWrite off). Re-enable transparency if your engine drops it. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material instance per mesh, so names repeat; recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. bookColours (the kit's 'Book colours') sets how many of the three seeded books on the hood use bright kit colours instead of leather tones, counted from the top. swing sets the pendulum amplitude and bobRadius the bob size. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its warnings are heuristics: repeated material names (one instance per mesh), non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested case panels, separately grouped parts that read as detached (glass, dial, finials, bracket), and a 2.31 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 12 planned ids. Fix round 1 widened the glazed opening and moved the pendulum and weights forward in the trunk, because at the hero angle the bob had hidden behind the door stile.
About the Clock pendulum 3D model
Clock pendulum is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Library and Study set. It measures 62 cm × 2.3 m × 37 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,812 triangles across 27 meshes, with 12 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 166 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Clock pendulum 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 166 KB: 1,812 triangles, 5,436 vertices and 27 materials, modelled in metres at 62 cm × 2.3 m × 37 cm.
- Is Clock pendulum animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Clock pendulum 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
