Desk
A low-poly twin-pedestal library writing desk in mahogany, with a green leather writing inset, drawers with brass knobs and a desk set of a green-shaded banker's lamp, a stack of books, a sheet of parchment and an inkwell.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Desk for the Library and Study kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Library and Study kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tall shelves and a reading chair. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mahogany #602b20, forest green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, parchment #e6d6b3, mahogany dark #26110d, forest green dark #235223, mahogany light #944738, forest green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `bookColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Book colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.5 m wide (X), 0.75 m deep (Z) and 0.76 m to the writing surface; 1.16 m tall overall including the banker's lamp. Origin: bottom centre, resting on y = 0, with the drawers and kneehole facing +Z. The GLB has 988 triangles in 18 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and the GLB lists some names more than once because the exporter clones materials per mesh. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. bookColours (the kit's 'Book colours') sets the share of book covers drawn from the bright kit colours (greens, brass, mid grey) instead of leather tones: 0 gives all leather browns and black, 1 gives mostly bright covers. Parchment and warm white are never used for covers, because the page blocks are parchment. The book stack comes from a fixed seed, so it is deterministic. Book meshes are named per colour (desk_set.books.<colour>), so which ones exist depends on bookColours. width (1.2–1.8 m) scales the top and the kneehole, drawers sets 2–4 drawers per pedestal, and deskSet toggles the lamp, books, sheet and inkwell. Both extremes passed three-check: width 1.8, 4 drawers and colours 1, and width 1.2, 2 drawers and colours 0. Every result stays far below the 6,000-triangle budget. The back and ends are finished with raised panels, so the desk can stand free in a room. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings. These cover material count and exporter duplicates, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), overlapping sibling boxes (panels and apron set against the pedestals), and stacked parts reported as detached (the top rests on the band, and the leather, sheet and knobs sit flush on their surfaces). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 10 planned ids. Fix round 1 darkened the leather to forest green dark, made the lamp shade forest green, and changed the near-black side and back panels to dark wood. Fix round 2 stopped book covers from using parchment or warm white, which had made the stack read as white blocks.
About the Desk 3D model
Desk is a free low-poly 3D model from the Library and Study set. It measures 1.5 m × 1.2 m × 76 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 988 triangles across 18 meshes, with 17 named parts. Download the 86 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Desk 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 86 KB: 988 triangles, 2,964 vertices and 18 materials, modelled in metres at 1.5 m × 1.2 m × 76 cm.
- Can I animate Desk?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 17 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Desk 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
