Sound stage

A low-poly 32 m × 40 m film studio sound stage for the Film Studio kit. It has a windowless warm-white shed under a shallow gable roof, a giant elephant door sliding open on a black track to reveal a lit set, red rolling lamps, an exterior catwalk stair and scenery flats leaning on the wall.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Sound stage for the Film Studio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Film Studio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Sets, lights and fake walls. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: black #151619, lamp yellow #eecd2b, wood #7d5736, red carpet #c32222, black dark #090a0b, lamp yellow dark #bda00f, black light #3a3c40, lamp yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `filmGenreOnSet` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Film genre on set" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: the shed is 32 m wide (x) × 40 m long (z). The eaves are at 14.15 m and the 9° gable ridge is at about 16.7 m. The exhaust stacks top out at 18.58 m, the model's full height. The concrete apron is 37.5 m × 51 m, including a 9 m forecourt in front of the door. The elephant door opening is 12 m × 10 m and faces +Z. Origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint, and the apron rests on y = 0. The GLB has 3,244 triangles in 39 meshes. It is static, has no animation clip and uses flat normals (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 colours are used. filmGenreOnSet (the kit's 'Film genre on set') sets how many of the four leaning flats and the four backdrop panels inside the door are sci-fi panels (black with lamp-lit strips) rather than period timber flats: 0 = all timber, 1 = all sci-fi, 0.5 = two of each. doorOpen slides the two 6.3 m leaves apart by 0–6 m; at 0 the set is hidden. The set stands in a 3 m loading recess, not a full interior, so the stage is a solid shell beyond that. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the viewer rebuilds the scene. Both extremes passed three-check (all-min 3,534 and all-max 3,582 viewer triangles, which include about 290 staging triangles). glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: more than 10 materials (one per colour per part), duplicate material names, non-indexed flat shading, nested overlaps, the lighting truss flagged 'detached' because it attaches to the shell part, and the scale check for a subject taller than 1 m. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan passes with the slug de-hyphenated. Fix rounds: (1) dark plinth, taller proportions, a rear shutter door and red lamps on the blank back gable; (2) hero framing.

About the Sound stage 3D model

Sound stage is a free low-poly 3D model from the Film Studio set. It measures 38 m × 19 m × 51 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,244 triangles across 39 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 344 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Sound stage 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 344 KB: 3,244 triangles, 9,732 vertices and 39 materials, modelled in metres at 38 m × 19 m × 51 m.
Can I animate Sound stage?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Sound stage 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
