Prop racks

A low-poly rolling prop rack from a film studio's prop department: a castored steel frame with four wood shelves striped with lamp-yellow safety lips, a push handle and a prop-list clipboard, loaded with vases, film cans, trophies, a suitcase and a rolled red carpet.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Prop racks for the Film Studio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Film Studio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Sets, lights and fake walls. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: black #151619, lamp yellow #eecd2b, wood #7d5736, red carpet #c32222, black dark #090a0b, lamp yellow dark #bda00f, black light #3a3c40, lamp yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `filmGenreOnSet` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Film genre on set" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.64 m wide including the push handle (1.5 m rack), 0.6 m deep and 1.8 m to the post tops; the props on the top shelf take the overall height to 2.04 m. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint, the castor wheels rest on y = 0, and the open front faces +Z. The GLB has 2,276 triangles in 21 meshes and no animation clip; it is a static asset. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour, and the exporter writes one material per mesh, so recolour by name. At the default genre the GLB uses 11 of the 12 kit colours: lamp yellow light only appears on the lantern prop in the western and sci-fi sets. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. rackWidth, rackHeight and shelfCount resize the frame, and the shelves re-pack their props (deterministic seeded layout, no prop type twice on one shelf). filmGenreOnSet (the kit's 'Film genre on set') swaps the set dressing in three steps: below 0.34 western (barrels, crates, lanterns, leather cases), 0.34–0.66 period drama (vases, film cans, trophies, red suitcase, carpet roll), above 0.66 sci-fi (white helmets, blasters, white crates, glowing lanterns). Props are merged per colour under one props part, so they are not separate pickable objects in an engine. The clipboard sheet is blank on purpose (no text). Both param extremes were checked with three-check (PASS). glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict prints UNVERIFIED because 5 rules need a requirements contract or a manual review. It also gives 6 heuristic warnings about non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, per-mesh materials, nested frame parts, the clipboard bounds and scale (it expects 1 m; this subject is about 2 m). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. A copy with the hyphens removed passes, and three-check accepts the ids, all 11 planned ids survive the GLB reload.

About the Prop racks 3D model

Prop racks is a free low-poly 3D model from the Film Studio set. It measures 1.7 m × 2.0 m × 66 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,276 triangles across 21 meshes, with 15 named parts. Download the 180 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Prop racks 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 180 KB: 2,276 triangles, 6,828 vertices and 21 materials, modelled in metres at 1.7 m × 2.0 m × 66 cm.
Can I animate Prop racks?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 15 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Prop racks 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
