Green screen

A low-poly, free-standing chroma-key green cyc for a film studio: one continuous screen that curves from the wall through a faceted cove onto a floor sweep, framed by black end wings. Behind it is a timber stud frame with sandbagged jack braces, with a lighting batten over the top, tracking crosses on the wall and a red actor's mark on the floor.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Green screen for the Film Studio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Film Studio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Sets, lights and fake walls. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: black #151619, lamp yellow #eecd2b, wood #7d5736, red carpet #c32222, black dark #090a0b, lamp yellow dark #bda00f, black light #3a3c40, lamp yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `filmGenreOnSet` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Film genre on set" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 4.08 m wide including the end wings (4 m screen), 3.3 m tall to the lighting batten (3 m screen face) and 2.93 m deep, from the 1.6 m floor sweep at the front to the brace feet at the back. Units are metres, +Y is up, the screen faces +Z, and the origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, resting on y = 0. The Film Studio palette has no green, so the chroma surface (wall, cove and floor sweep) is one extra flat, matte material named 'chroma green' (#2fb34a). The tracking crosses are the palette's 'warm white'. Every other material is named exactly after its kit palette colour, so the kit recolours as one. The cove is 6 flat facets with a 0.6 m radius, and the shell is solid behind the cove, so there is no hollow to see from the sides. The GLB has 1,068 triangles in 12 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's 1,382-triangle figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. filmGenreOnSet (the kit's 'Film genre on set') runs from a plain drama backing (one row of 3 tracking crosses at 0) to an effects-heavy shoot (a 4-row by 7-column grid at 1). From 0.5 it adds a row of floor crosses that keeps clear of the actor's mark. width (3–6 m) adds studs, braces and markers, height runs 2.4–4 m and sweepDepth runs 1–2.5 m. Both extremes passed three-check: the min at 962 triangles and the max at 2,126, both counts including staging. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings. They cover exporter duplicate materials, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), overlapping sibling boxes (wings, cap and shell meet by design, as do the batten arms and pipe) and the 3.3 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. The lint verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. Fix rounds: (1) the chroma shell moved from the pale lamp yellow light to the saturated lamp yellow, because it washed out to cream (a later review replaced it with chroma green and made the crosses warm white); (2) the hero was reframed so the sweep's front lip is not cropped, and the floor crosses were cleared away from the actor's mark; (3) every stud got a jack brace, so the bracing is symmetric.

About the Green screen 3D model

Green screen is a free low-poly 3D model from the Film Studio set. It measures 4.3 m × 3.3 m × 2.9 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,068 triangles across 12 meshes, with 17 named parts. Download the 86 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Green screen 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 86 KB: 1,068 triangles, 3,204 vertices and 12 materials, modelled in metres at 4.3 m × 3.3 m × 2.9 m.
Can I animate Green screen?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 17 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Green screen 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
