Director chairs
A low-poly tall film-set director's chair: a square-timber wood frame with X braces crossed front and back, dark-wood armrests and footrest, brass pivot bolts, and a red canvas sling seat and back band.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Director chairs for the Film Studio kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Film Studio kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Sets, lights and fake walls. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: black #151619, lamp yellow #eecd2b, wood #7d5736, red carpet #c32222, black dark #090a0b, lamp yellow dark #bda00f, black light #3a3c40, lamp yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `filmGenreOnSet` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Film genre on set" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.37 m tall to the back-post caps, with the seat at 0.76 m and the armrests at 0.96 m. The footprint is 0.61 m wide and 0.51 m deep (the armrests reach past the front legs). Units are metres, +Y is up, the front faces +Z, and the origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, resting on y = 0 on four black foot caps. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. The GLB has 560 triangles in 8 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. filmGenreOnSet (the kit's 'Film genre on set') picks the canvas colour in three steps: black for noir below 0.33, red carpet for a premiere from 0.33 to 0.67 (the default, 0.5), and lamp yellow for a musical above 0.67. seatHeight runs from 0.45 m (a low chair whose footrest becomes a floor stretcher) to 0.8 m (a tall chair). The armrests, back band and footrest follow the seat. seatWidth sets the post spacing, and backHeight sets the height of the canvas back band. three-check passed with all params at their minimums and again at their maximums. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings. They cover exporter duplicate materials, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), nested sibling boxes (braces, bolts and armrests meeting the legs), and 'detached' seat and back canvas. Those canvas meshes wrap the seat rails and back posts, but they are siblings of the frame group rather than of its meshes, so the lint does not see the contact. The lint verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. Fix round 1: the hero was reframed so the front foot isn't cropped, and dark-wood caps were added to the bare back-post tips. Wood, dark wood, red carpet, black dark and lamp yellow dark are used at the default setting. Black and lamp yellow appear only at other genre values. Black light, lamp yellow light, soot black, warm white and mid grey are not used on this part.
About the Director chairs 3D model
Director chairs is a free low-poly 3D model from the Film Studio set. It measures 61 cm × 1.4 m × 51 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 560 triangles across 8 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 47 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Director chairs 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 47 KB: 560 triangles, 1,680 vertices and 8 materials, modelled in metres at 61 cm × 1.4 m × 51 cm.
- Can I animate Director chairs?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Director chairs 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
