Watchtower
A low-poly Viking watchtower: a braced timber trestle on stone footings carries a plank lookout platform hung with rust red and warm white shields. A steep slate roof with a rust red pennant sits on top, a ladder leans on the front and firewood is stacked behind.

Left rail: colours and the 3 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Watchtower for the Viking Fjord Village kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Viking Fjord Village kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Longhouses under steep cliffs. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: timber brown #6b4a2e, slate #525e6f, sea grey #757e8a, rust red #c32222, timber brown dark #362517, slate dark #323943, timber brown light #9b704b, slate light #7b8593, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the platform deck is 7.0 m up (3.9 m square with the parapet at 1.05 m), the eaves are at about 9.3 m, the roof apex is at about 12.2 m and the pennant mast tops out at 14.08 m. The legs splay from 2.8 m apart at the deck to 3.8 m at the ground. With the 4.8 m roof square, the ladder at the front and the woodpile behind, the footprint is 4.8 m (x) by about 6.3 m (z). The ladder faces +Z. The origin is at the bottom centre of that footprint, resting on y = 0. The exported model has 3,380 triangles in 28 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). All 12 kit colours are used, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. season (the kit's 'Season') grows the firewood stack from 1 to 4 rows. Above 0.6 it caps the roof with warm white snow (none at the 0.5 default, about 85% of the roof at 1). height moves the deck between 5 and 9 m, and the bracing, ladder and roof follow. legSplay sets how far the legs lean out at the ground. The low extreme (season 1, height 5, splay 0.1) was captured and passes three-check; the high extremes were checked by reading the geometry. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: duplicate materials (from the per-mesh materials), unindexed geometry (flat shading on purpose), sibling overlap (braces and battens embedded in legs and walls on purpose), material count (28 per-mesh materials against the direction's 10; there are only 12 distinct colour names), and scale (compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 9 survive the GLB reload.
About the Watchtower 3D model
Watchtower is a free low-poly 3D model from the Viking Fjord Village set. It measures 5.3 m × 14 m × 6.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,380 triangles across 28 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 262 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Watchtower 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 262 KB: 3,380 triangles, 10,140 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 5.3 m × 14 m × 6.3 m.
- Can I animate Watchtower?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Watchtower 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
