Coconuts
A low-poly pile of coconuts for the Tropical Island kit: three ridged husk coconuts (two green, one dried), one resting on the other two, plus a brown husked nut with its three dark eyes and a cracked half showing white flesh.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Coconuts for the Tropical Island kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Tropical Island kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Palm beach and blue lagoon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sand #d1bd94, turquoise #31c4b8, palm green #3a883a, coral #e2715a, sand dark #ba9c5e, turquoise dark #22877e, sand light #e6ddcb, turquoise light #6dd5cc, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `islandSize` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Island size" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.45 × 0.51 m in plan and 0.39 m tall at the top husk. Each husk coconut is about 0.28 m long and 0.21 m across, the husked nut about 0.13 m and the half about 0.15 m across, which is real coconut scale. The bottom rests on y = 0, the origin is at the footprint centre and the front faces +Z. The top husk is dropped onto the two below it until they touch, and it settles a few millimetres into them. The GLB has 786 triangles in 7 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's figure is higher because it includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. Only 5 of the 12 are used, because sand, turquoise and coral have no place on a coconut. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so 'dark wood' appears three times; recolour by name. islandSize (the kit's 'Island size') scales every nut from 0.85× to 1.15×. huskCount sets 2–4 husks: 2 gives the ground pair only, 3 adds the top husk, and 4 adds one lying behind. ripeness turns that fraction of the husks to dried sand-dark. opened shows or hides the husked nut and the cracked half. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. The viewer uses exposure 0.66 rather than the direction's 1.05, so the white flesh keeps its facets; this does not affect the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 warnings, all expected. They are the repeated dark-wood material from the per-mesh export, non-indexed geometry used on purpose for flat facets, overlapping boxes for the green and dried husks in the pile, 'detached' flags for the calyxes, eyes and flesh, which are seated on their own nuts, and a scale note because a 0.39 m prop is smaller than the 1 m reference. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 7 ids.
About the Coconuts 3D model
Coconuts is a free low-poly 3D model from the Tropical Island set. It measures 45 cm × 39 cm × 51 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 786 triangles across 7 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 62 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Coconuts 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 62 KB: 786 triangles, 2,358 vertices and 7 materials, modelled in metres at 45 cm × 39 cm × 51 cm.
- Can I animate Coconuts?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Coconuts 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
