Tiki torches

A low-poly trio of beach tiki torches for the Tropical Island kit: knotted bamboo poles in little sand mounds, woven fuel cups bound with dark lashings and faceted coral flames, with a carved tiki face under the tallest torch.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tiki torches for the Tropical Island kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Tropical Island kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Palm beach and blue lagoon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sand #d1bd94, turquoise #31c4b8, palm green #3a883a, coral #e2715a, sand dark #ba9c5e, turquoise dark #22877e, sand light #e6ddcb, turquoise light #6dd5cc, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `islandSize` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Island size" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: three torches 1.98 m, 1.68 m and 1.38 m tall to the flame tips, on a footprint of about 1.1 m × 0.9 m; poles are 6.4 cm thick, the woven cups 21 cm across and 24 cm tall, and the carved tiki head is 13 cm square and 34 cm tall. Origin is the bottom centre of the footprint, the tiki face looks down +Z, and all three sand mounds rest exactly on y = 0. The model is the torches only: no ground, palms or lights. The GLB has 1,584 triangles in 14 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip; the flames are solid faceted shapes with no emissive glow, so add a point light in your engine if you want them to light the scene. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (8 of the 12 are used; turquoise, turquoise dark, turquoise light and palm green are not). islandSize (the kit's 'Island size') spreads the trio from 0.75× to 1.3× its default spacing; torchCount keeps 1–3 torches (a single torch is the carved one, centred); torchHeight scales pole length; flameSize scales the flames. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. The viewer uses exposure 0.55 instead of the direction's 1.05 so the pale palette keeps its tone; this does not affect the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors, 4 warnings, all expected (the exporter writes one material per mesh, so 14 materials share 8 names; non-indexed flat-shaded geometry; nested sibling boxes such as the pole nodes and tiki features). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB keep all 7 ids.

About the Tiki torches 3D model

Tiki torches is a free low-poly 3D model from the Tropical Island set. It measures 1.1 m × 2.0 m × 89 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,584 triangles across 14 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 164 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tiki torches 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 164 KB: 1,584 triangles, 4,752 vertices and 14 materials, modelled in metres at 1.1 m × 2.0 m × 89 cm.
Can I animate Tiki torches?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tiki torches 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
