How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A realistic adult snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus) perched on a weathered wooden fence post, head turned toward the viewer. Anatomy: about 0.6 m tall, rounded head without ear tufts, large yellow eyes with black pupils, a small black hooked beak almost hidden by feathers, wings folded, thickly feathered feet with black talons gripping the post. Plumage: white with dark brown bars and spots on the back, wings and crown (a female pattern), individual layered contour feathers on the wings, fluffy facial disc. The post is cracked grey wood about 0.6 m tall, part of the model. Hard requirement: the exported GLB must contain more than 20,000 triangles — measure it before delivering; a lighter model is rejected.

Note: Exported GLB: 118,920 triangles, 6.3 MB, 14 meshes, 8 materials. Textures are all procedural and embedded: body plumage 2048² base colour JPEG + 2048² normal JPEG + 1024² ORM; feather-card atlas 2048×1024 colour + 1024×512 normal; down atlas 1024×512 PNG (alpha); post 2048² colour + 1024² normal + 1024² ORM; iris 512². Total height 1.13 m (0.6 m post plus about 0.53 m owl from feet to crown, tail hanging below the post top); the post base sits on y = 0. The body is one surface-nets SDF mesh (head, facial disc, wings, tail, legs and toes). Limits: feathers are textured cards, not individual barbs; down is alpha-tested cards, so it can look slightly flaky at the head silhouette in close-ups; the beak is mostly hidden by bristle cards as briefed and reads only as a dark hook tip; the talons are small swept tubes. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: 8 materials and 118,920 triangles both exceed soft-clay's defaults (overridden on purpose), card layers overlap their parent body, the talons don't touch a sibling mesh even though they rest on the post, and the scale guess (0.2 m) doesn't fit a bird on a post. plan-check still flags two conflicts with the brief: hyphenated part ids (snowy-owl.*) and family 'characters' without a craft document (the craft contract covers moving humanoid rigs; this model is static).
