Stables

A low-poly caravanserai stable range: a flat-roofed mud-brick arcade of five pointed-arch bays between corner towers, with an indigo tile frieze, stalls with hay-filled mangers, hitching rails, a stone water trough and traders' carpets of spice sacks out front.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Stables for the Silk Road Caravanserai kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Silk Road Caravanserai kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A walled inn for desert traders. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mud brick #9e3d2e, indigo #2d2d76, saffron #eead2b, carpet red #c32222, mud brick dark #63261d, indigo dark #18183f, mud brick light #c66253, indigo light #4848a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `goodsOnSale` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Goods on sale" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 17.5 m wide (X) × 8.0 m deep (Z, including the goods and rails out front; the building itself is 6.0 m deep) × 5.78 m tall to the tower caps. Walls are 4.2 m high, each bay is 3.0 m wide, and the arch openings are 2.2 m wide × 3.3 m to the apex. The origin is at the bottom centre, everything rests on y = 0, and the arches face +Z. The GLB has 3,456 triangles in 23 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on several materials; recolour by name. goodsOnSale (the kit's 'Goods on sale' knob) sets how many bays traders use as market pitches: round(goodsOnSale × bays), filled from the centre out. Each of those bays gets a carpet spread with spice sacks, a carpet roll and a crate in place of its hitching rail (3 of 5 at the default). At 0 the 'goods' part is absent; at 1 the 'hitching_rails' part is absent. bayCount (3–7) sets the arcade length, and wallHeight (3.8–4.8 m) sets the wall height and raises the arches with it. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 warnings, all expected: duplicate same-named materials from the per-mesh export, deliberately non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets, nested or overlapping sibling meshes, a 5.8 m height against the direction's 1 m reference, and the tile frieze flagged 'detached' because it sits on the wall face, which belongs to a different part. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 9 ids.

About the Stables 3D model

Stables is a free low-poly 3D model from the Silk Road Caravanserai set. It measures 17 m × 5.8 m × 8.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,456 triangles across 23 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 263 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Stables 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 263 KB: 3,456 triangles, 10,368 vertices and 23 materials, modelled in metres at 17 m × 5.8 m × 8.0 m.
Can I animate Stables?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Stables 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
