Hand cart

A low-poly two-wheeled bazaar hand cart for the Silk Road Caravanserai kit: indigo side boards with a saffron rail on a dark-wood bed and pulling shafts, big spoked wheels, rolled carpets overhanging the open tail, open sacks of heaped spice and a brass lantern on a staff. It has a seamless 8 s loop: the wheels turn and the lantern swings.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Hand cart for the Silk Road Caravanserai kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Silk Road Caravanserai kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A walled inn for desert traders. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mud brick #9e3d2e, indigo #2d2d76, saffron #eead2b, carpet red #c32222, mud brick dark #63261d, indigo dark #18183f, mud brick light #c66253, indigo light #4848a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `goodsOnSale` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Goods on sale" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 2.5 m long (carpet overhang at the tail to the shaft tips), 1.38 m wide over the hubs, with the plank bed at 0.64 m, side boards to 0.86 m and the lantern staff finial at 1.5 m. The wheels are 0.9 m across. The origin is at the bottom centre, the model rests on y = 0 on both iron tyres and both prop legs, and the shafts and pull bar face +Z. The GLB has 2,692 triangles in 35 meshes. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. At the defaults 11 of the 12 colours are used; mud brick light appears only when goodsOnSale reaches the third sack. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on more than one material: recolour by name. The baked clip scene-motion (8 s, seamless) turns both wheels one full forward revolution on the axle and swings the lantern on its hook at the arm tip. The bed, sides, legs, staff and load never move, so the wheels spin in place rather than carrying the cart along. The wheels are 16-sided with a vertex at the bottom at t = 0 and every quarter turn; in between, a tyre can lift a few millimetres off the ground. The GLB's static node pose is the t = 2 s pose (a quarter turn), because three-check exports after its determinism seek. goodsOnSale (the kit's 'Goods on sale') sets the load: round(5 × goodsOnSale) carpet rolls stacked in a pyramid and round(3 × goodsOnSale) open spice sacks, so the default 0.5 gives 3 carpets and 2 sacks, and at 0 the carpets and sacks parts are absent (an empty cart). bedLength, wheelRadius and sideHeight rebuild the cart. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. The viewer runs at exposure 0.7 instead of the direction's 1.05, which does not affect the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 warnings, all expected: per-mesh materials sharing colour names, deliberately non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, and nested boxes (cross members inside rails, board ends inside corner posts, planks on rails). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 11 ids. Fix round 1 made the carpet rolls fatter so the load fills the bed, framed the hero closer and more side-on, and seated the staff finial into the pole.

About the Hand cart 3D model

Hand cart is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Silk Road Caravanserai set. It measures 1.4 m × 1.5 m × 2.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,692 triangles across 35 meshes, with 11 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 246 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Hand cart 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 246 KB: 2,692 triangles, 8,076 vertices and 35 materials, modelled in metres at 1.4 m × 1.5 m × 2.5 m.
Is Hand cart animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Hand cart 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
