Scales
A low-poly brass beam balance for a Silk Road caravanserai bazaar: two chain-hung pans on a pillar and fork set on a dark-wood plinth, red sumac heaped in one pan and iron weights stacked in the other.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Scales for the Silk Road Caravanserai kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Silk Road Caravanserai kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A walled inn for desert traders. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: mud brick #9e3d2e, indigo #2d2d76, saffron #eead2b, carpet red #c32222, mud brick dark #63261d, indigo dark #18183f, mud brick light #c66253, indigo light #4848a8, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `goodsOnSale` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Goods on sale" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.94 m wide (X, pan rim to pan rim) × 0.26 m deep (Z) × 0.90 m tall to the finial; the plinth is 0.42 × 0.24 m and the pivot is 0.66 m up. This is a standing bazaar balance for a floor or low counter. The origin is at the bottom centre, the plinth rests on y = 0, and the beam runs left to right with its broadside facing +Z. The GLB has 1,106 triangles in 12 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 6 of the 12 are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on more than one material, so recolour by name. goodsOnSale (the kit's 'Goods on sale' knob) raises the sumac heap in the left pan and sets the weights in the right pan to 1 + round(3 × goodsOnSale), which is 3 at the default. At 0 the left pan is empty and the 'goods' part is absent. beamTilt tips the beam up to about 10° either way, and the pans stay plumb under the beam ends. beamReach and pillarHeight resize the beam and the pivot height; the chain length scales with the pivot height, so the pans always clear the plinth. The pans hang from the beam on chains and do not touch the ground, by design. The GLB bakes all params at their defaults. They only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer, and only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic or direction warnings, all expected: 12 per-mesh palette materials (6 distinct colours), deliberately non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets, nested parts (foot in plinth, goods and weights in pans), and pans, chains and loads that hang from the beam rather than reaching the ground. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex does not allow hyphens. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 9 ids.
About the Scales 3D model
Scales is a free low-poly 3D model from the Silk Road Caravanserai set. It measures 94 cm × 90 cm × 26 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,106 triangles across 12 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 89 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Scales 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 89 KB: 1,106 triangles, 3,318 vertices and 12 materials, modelled in metres at 94 cm × 90 cm × 26 cm.
- Can I animate Scales?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Scales 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
