Giant sign
A low-poly giant roadside diner sign: a cherry red main board ringed with bulbs, raised on two steel columns over a changeable-letter reader board. A bulb-lit mint arrow swings off the board and points down at the lot, and a starburst sits on top.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Giant sign for the Roadside Diner kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Roadside Diner kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A lonely stop on a long road. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: chrome #cad1d8, cherry red #c32222, mint #90d5b3, desert tan #bf9769, chrome dark #9eabb7, cherry red dark #821717, chrome light #f7f7f8, cherry red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 9.57 m tall to the starburst tip, 8.29 m wide (x) including the arrow, and 1.74 m deep (z) at the footing. The main board is 5.5 m by 2.8 m and its underside sits at 4.7 m. The reader board runs from 3.0 to 4.4 m. The front faces +Z, and the origin is at the bottom centre of the bounding box, resting on y = 0. The model is centred on its full footprint, including the arrow, so the columns sit about 0.9 m to the right of the origin. The exported model has 1,740 triangles in 20 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). 10 of the 12 kit colours are used; chrome and dark wood are not. Every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The boards carry abstract colour blocks, never real text. Bulbs are modelled geometry and are not emissive. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era') runs from a square 1940s board with a stubby ball finial (era 0) to a raked 1960s Googie parallelogram board with long starburst spikes (era 1). poleHeight raises the reader board, and the main board and topper move up with it. boardWidth widens the board, the column spacing, the footing and the reader board. arrowDrop sets how far the arrow hangs below the board. The param extremes were checked by working through the geometry limits (the arrow tip stays above 0.5 m, and the strut and ladder stay attached), not by a capture. The back face was not captured; it mirrors the front, with cherry red light word blocks. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicate materials (from the per-mesh materials), unindexed geometry (flat shading on purpose), sibling overlap (trims and slots embedded on purpose) and scale (compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 7 survive the GLB reload.
About the Giant sign 3D model
Giant sign is a free low-poly 3D model from the Roadside Diner set. It measures 8.3 m × 9.6 m × 1.7 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,740 triangles across 20 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 139 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Giant sign 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 139 KB: 1,740 triangles, 5,220 vertices and 20 materials, modelled in metres at 8.3 m × 9.6 m × 1.7 m.
- Can I animate Giant sign?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Giant sign 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
