Big rig
A low-poly American big rig: a cherry red long-nose tractor with a sleeper cab, a chrome grille, twin exhaust stacks and chrome fuel tanks, pulling a warm-white box trailer on eighteen wheels. A 6-second loop rolls the wheels and flaps the stacks' rain caps.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Big rig for the Roadside Diner kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Roadside Diner kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A lonely stop on a long road. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: chrome #cad1d8, cherry red #c32222, mint #90d5b3, desert tan #bf9769, chrome dark #9eabb7, cherry red dark #821717, chrome light #f7f7f8, cherry red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 19.4 m long from bumper to trailer doors (default 13.6 m trailer), 2.6 m wide across the trailer (3.1 m across the mirrors) and 4.08 m tall to the stack tops at the default era (the trailer roof is 4.0 m). The wheels are 1.04 m across. The origin is at the bottom centre, all 18 tyres rest on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 4,112 triangles in 45 primitives and 10 materials. Every material is named exactly after its Roadside Diner palette colour (desert tan and dark wood are not used); the exporter writes one material per mesh, so recolour by name. The baked clip scene-motion (6 s, seamless) moves only parts on their own pivots: the five axles each turn as one rigid group on their centre (pull away, roll 2 whole turns, brake to a stop, speed following sin⁴ so the rig is parked at the loop seam), and the two rain caps flap open on their rear-rim hinges while the engine pulls, then close before the seam. The tractor and trailer never move. The 12-facet tyres make the contact point rise and fall by up to about 18 mm while rolling. The export snapshots a mid-loop frame, so the glTF's static node pose is a frame from the clip (rain caps lifted, which is why glb-lint reads the bounds as 4.26 m tall); seek the clip to 0 for the rest pose. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era' knob) runs from a 1950s square nose with a deep sun visor, a low roof cap and tall stacks (0) to a later aero rig with a sloped hood, no visor and a trailer-high roof fairing (1). trailerLength (10–16 m) stretches the trailer and moves its tandem axles with the rear. capFlap scales how far the rain caps open; 0 keeps them shut. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings — per-mesh duplicate materials, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), nested trim overlapping its panels (stripes, grille slots, tank straps), 'detached' parts that each sit in their own group but rest on each other, and the 4 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires (a copy with the hyphens removed passes); three-check accepts those ids and all 23 survive the GLB reload.
About the Big rig 3D model
Big rig is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Roadside Diner set. It measures 3.1 m × 4.3 m × 19 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,112 triangles across 45 meshes, with 23 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 375 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Big rig 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 375 KB: 4,112 triangles, 12,336 vertices and 45 materials, modelled in metres at 3.1 m × 4.3 m × 19 m.
- Is Big rig animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Big rig 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
