Garage

A low-poly retro roadside service garage: a two-bay block with chrome sectional doors under a cherry-red parapet band, a lower office wing with a shop window and awning, a mint streamline fin, and a tyre stack and oil drums in the yard.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Garage for the Roadside Diner kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Roadside Diner kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A lonely stop on a long road. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: chrome #cad1d8, cherry red #c32222, mint #90d5b3, desert tan #bf9769, chrome dark #9eabb7, cherry red dark #821717, chrome light #f7f7f8, cherry red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 12.5 m wide (X) × 8.49 m deep (Z) × 6.43 m tall to the top of the fin. The bay block's walls are 4.6 m tall and its parapet coping tops out at 5.2 m. The office wing's walls are 3.6 m tall. Each bay door is 2.9 m wide × 3.2 m tall. The front faces +Z. The origin is at the bottom centre of the bounding box, which includes the tyre stack, awning and downpipes, and the model rests on y = 0. The exported model has 2,832 triangles in 42 meshes (merged per part and colour) and is static, with no animation clip. All 12 kit colours are used, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era') runs from a 1950s look (0: a 2.6 m mint fin above the roofline and slim 0.3 m parapets) to a 1970s flat box (1: no fin, 0.75 m deep parapets). bays sets 1–3 service bays and widens the block to match. doorOpen runs each four-panel sectional door up its track and back under the ceiling, which reveals the hollow bay with a lift and a workbench. At the default of 0, the doors are closed and the interior is hidden. Only the default params were rendered and checked; the extremes were checked on paper for clearances but not captured. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings. Two come from the per-mesh materials (material count and duplicates). One flags non-indexed geometry, which is deliberate flat shading. One flags overlaps where trim is set into walls, which is deliberate nesting. One flags the bay tool board as 'detached': it is set 1 cm into the back wall, which belongs to a different part. One flags the 6.43 m height against a generic 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. With the ids substituted it passes. three-check accepts the real ids, and all 11 survive the GLB reload.

About the Garage 3D model

Garage is a free low-poly 3D model from the Roadside Diner set. It measures 13 m × 6.4 m × 8.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,832 triangles across 42 meshes, with 11 named parts. Download the 234 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Garage 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 234 KB: 2,832 triangles, 8,496 vertices and 42 materials, modelled in metres at 13 m × 6.4 m × 8.5 m.
Can I animate Garage?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 11 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Garage 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
