Mangrove clumps
A low-poly clump of three red mangroves on a mud bank, each tree lifted on a cage of arching grey prop roots under a rounded dark-green crown with hanging propagules. A dark tide band marks the water line on the roots and mud.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Mangrove clumps for the River Delta kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the River Delta kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stilt houses and floating trade. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: muddy brown #43372d, palm green #3a883a, bright boat colours #b39d80, sky blue #2e67b8, muddy brown dark #15120e, palm green dark #235223, muddy brown light #6d5d50, palm green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 5.1 × 3.8 m footprint and 4.18 m tall at the defaults (x −2.55…+2.55, z −1.91…+1.91). The origin is at the bottom centre, the mud bank rests flat on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. The mud bank crown is 0.62 m high; the tallest tree's root crown sits about 1.4 m up, held only by its prop roots. waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') uses the River Delta water mapping, 0 → 0.25 m and 1 → 0.65 m (the same as the river tiles). It only moves the tide mark: mud and roots below that height take the wet colours. The model carries no water of its own; it is meant to stand in a river tile at the same waterLevel. trees adds trees in a fixed order (1–4), treeHeight scales every tree from the tallest one's height, and rootSpread sets how far the prop roots reach. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults. The GLB has 5,562 triangles in 11 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip; three-check's ~5.9k figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (7 of the 12 are used). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so some names repeat; recolour by name. glb-lint reports 0 errors and only heuristic warnings: non-indexed flat-shaded primitives, duplicate material names, overlapping canopy lobes, a scale warning against the 1 m reference, and trunks/propagules flagged as detached, although they rest on the roots and hang inside the canopy. plan-check rejects the hyphenated slug part ids the library mandates; a copy with the ids de-hyphenated passes, and three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. Fix round 1 lowered the root crowns and canopies and gave the roots a stronger arch, because they first read as tall spider legs.
About the Mangrove clumps 3D model
Mangrove clumps is a free low-poly 3D model from the River Delta set. It measures 5.1 m × 4.2 m × 3.8 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,562 triangles across 11 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 402 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Mangrove clumps 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 402 KB: 5,562 triangles, 16,686 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 5.1 m × 4.2 m × 3.8 m.
- Can I animate Mangrove clumps?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Mangrove clumps 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
