Drying mats

A low-poly rice-drying yard: three woven mats with dark bound edges laid side by side, harvested grain raked into straw-gold furrows, a wooden grain rake resting on the ridges and a spare mat rolled and tied behind.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Drying mats for the Rice Terraces kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Rice Terraces kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stepped green hills and small farms. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: rice green #3a883a, water mirror #3997c6, earth brown #6b4a2e, straw #d7c375, rice green dark #235223, water mirror dark #286a8a, rice green light #5db15d, water mirror light #79b5d2, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `growthStageWater` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Growth stage (water" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

  • Woven mats
  • Bound edges
  • Drying grain
  • Grain rake
  • Rolled spare mat

Note: Size: about 3.74 m wide × 2.3 m deep × 0.22 m tall at the defaults; each mat is 1.2 × 2.0 m and the rolled spare mat (0.22 m across) sets the height. The origin is at the bottom centre, everything rests on y = 0 and the long front edge faces +Z. The GLB has 1,348 triangles, is static and carries no animation clip; three-check's higher figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 3 of the 12 are used (earth brown, dark wood, straw). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can repeat; recolour by name. growthStageWater (the kit's 'Growth stage (water' knob) is read here as the harvest load: at 0 the mats lie bare, up to 0.5 the grain spreads from the back of every mat towards the front, and above 0.5 the ridges heap higher (about 2.5 to 7.5 cm). When the grain only partly covers the mats, the rake lies on the weave and its back end sinks into the ridges, as a rake left in grain would. matCount lays out 1–4 mats, matLength sets each mat's length, and rolledMat adds or removes the spare roll. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 warnings, all expected: duplicate same-named materials from the per-mesh export; deliberately non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets; overlapping sibling bounds inside the rolled mat (end caps and ties around the roll); a 'detached' heuristic on parts that sit on the mats rather than on y = 0; and a scale hint because the asset is flat by nature. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 6 ids.

About the Drying mats 3D model

Drying mats is a free low-poly 3D model from the Rice Terraces set. It measures 3.7 m × 22 cm × 2.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,348 triangles across 8 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 136 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Drying mats 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 136 KB: 1,348 triangles, 4,044 vertices and 8 materials, modelled in metres at 3.7 m × 22 cm × 2.3 m.
Can I animate Drying mats?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Drying mats 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
