How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A realistic adult red fox (Vulpes vulpes) sitting upright on its haunches, tail curled around its front paws, head turned slightly toward the viewer with ears pricked. Anatomy (real proportions): about 0.40 m tall sitting, slender body, long narrow muzzle with a black nose pad, amber eyes with vertical-slit pupils, large pointed triangular ears with dark backs and pale fur inside, white chin, throat and chest bib, black 'stockings' on the lower legs, small oval paws with visible toe pads, and a very bushy tail about 0.40 m long with a white tip. Coat: dense rusty-orange fur, longer and fluffier on the cheeks (ruff), chest and tail; hair direction flowing back from the muzzle and down the body; clumped guard hairs on the tail and ruff silhouette. Hard requirement: the exported GLB must contain more than 20,000 triangles — measure it before delivering; a lighter model is rejected.

Note: Real triangle count 116,808 (14 meshes, 7 materials, 15 draw calls); model.glb is 9.3 MB. Embedded textures: fur base colour, normal and roughness/metalness at 2048x2048 JPEG; hair-card alpha atlas at 1024x1024 PNG; eye iris and skin normal at 512x512 JPEG. All are generated in code; there are no external assets. The coat pattern (white bib and lips, black stockings, dark eye lines, white tail tip) is stored as COLOR_0 vertex colours multiplied over the fur texture. GLB nodes are named exactly red-fox.*. The registered kit part ids (glTF extras.partId) are redfox.* because the kit's part-id pattern rejects hyphens. Honest limits: this is not scan fidelity. Fur is a strand-texture normal map plus about 9,500 alpha-tested hair cards (ruff, chest, back, flanks, tail, ear tufts). There are no fur shells and no per-strand hair, so the silhouette is clumpy rather than truly soft, and up close the cards show as flat blades. The cards are static and carry no physics. The body is one SDF surface meshed with surface nets at 2.4-4.4 mm, so fine creases (lip line, toe separations) are painted or soft rather than sculpted. The eyes are textured spheres with a clearcoat; there is no refractive cornea and no deforming lids. The tail centreline is about 0.45 m including the part buried in the rump. There is no rig, no skin and no animation; the kit's craft rig only covers humanoid toys, so quadruped rigging is out of scope. glb-lint warnings: 7 materials and 117k triangles exceed the soft-clay defaults (overridden in design-plan.md), the 0.40 m height exceeds soft-clay's 0.2 m reference (real fox scale), the eyes and nose sit inside the head's bounding box (intended), and the eyelids are flagged as detached because they are nested under the eye meshes.
