Newspaper Seller
A thin, stooped street newspaper seller in his seventies, shouting with his mouth wide open, in a brown wool coat, grey flat cap, off-white scarf and fingerless gloves, with a bundle of folded newspapers pinched in his right hand. Comic-ink look on a Mixamo-named skeleton in a T-pose bind.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
A man, 70s, thin and stooped, about 1.71 m tall. Shouting, mouth open expression. Wearing: wool coat, flat cap, fingerless gloves, scarf (plain fabrics, no logos, brand names or readable text). Palette: Grey, brown, off-white. Prop: folded newspapers, carried naturally and bound to the hand or arm bone that holds it. Comic ink style. The rig test is judged by eye from dist/rig-test.png: in the bent pose every limb, sleeve and the prop must stay attached and deform with the body — verify the capture visually before reporting PASS.

Note: Soles are at y = 0. The figure is 1.71 m to the top of the skull and 1.73 m to the top of the cap. The skeleton has 25 Mixamo-named bones (mixamorig:*) with Mixamo-style bone frames (+Y along each bone) and no finger bones: the hands are mitten blocks weighted to …Hand. The GLB has one skin entry per mesh, and all of them share the same 25 joints. The folded newspapers are a separate mesh weighted 100% to mixamorig:RightHand. The ink outline is a skinned inverted-hull shell with flipped winding and an unlit black material, so it renders as an outline in any engine with back-face culling. Hide or delete newspaper-seller.outline if you don't want it. The three-band toon ramp and shadow hatching are viewer-only; the GLB carries flat base colour plus the procedural ink, hatch and halftone maps (drawn in code, embedded as PNG). The GLB has no animation clips. glb-lint reports 0 blocking errors. Its overall verdict prints UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. It also gives 4 advisory warnings: 11 materials, two copies of the ink material, nested part bounds, and a height against the direction's 0.3 m toy reference.
About the Newspaper Seller 3D model
Newspaper Seller is a free toon 3D model from the City and office characters set, rigged with a 25-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton. It measures 1.7 m × 1.7 m × 42 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 12,120 triangles across 11 meshes, with 11 named parts. Download the 2.2 MB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Newspaper Seller 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 2.2 MB: 12,120 triangles, 8,219 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 1.7 m × 1.7 m × 42 cm.
- Is Newspaper Seller animated?
- It ships without a baked clip, in its bind pose. It is rigged with a 25-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton, so it takes retargeted animation.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Newspaper Seller 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
