Photographer

A slim man in his 30s in a khaki field vest, black rolled-sleeve shirt and cargo trousers, squinting with one eye shut and carrying a black dSLR on a red wrist strap. Realistic, skinned to a Mixamo-named T-pose skeleton with full finger chains.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A man, 30s, slim, about 1.78 m tall. Squinting, one eye shut expression. Wearing: field vest, rolled-sleeve shirt, cargo trousers (plain fabrics, no logos, brand names or readable text). Palette: Khaki, black, red strap. Prop: dSLR camera, carried naturally and bound to the hand or arm bone that holds it. Realistic style. The rig test is judged by eye from dist/rig-test.png: in the bent pose every limb, sleeve and the prop must stay attached and deform with the body — verify the capture visually before reporting PASS.

Note: 112,292 triangles, 65 bones (mixamorig:* incl. Thumb/Index/Middle/Ring/Pinky 1-4 on both hands), one shared skeleton, no animation clips. Bind pose is a T-pose (arms along ±X, palms down, soles at y = 0, facing +Z); bone local axes point +Y along each bone, so check rest orientations before playing raw Mixamo tracks without retargeting. The right-hand fingers are modelled and bound curled around the camera grip, so their rest rotations differ from a flat hand. The camera, its metal trim, the lens glass and the red wrist strap are separate meshes weighted 100% to mixamorig:RightHand. Weights are a function of rest position (max 3 influences used), so stacked clothing moves with the body; surfaces fully hidden under clothing were removed, so there is no complete nude body underneath (not suited to outfit swapping). The squint and shut left eye are sculpted into the mesh (no blendshapes). Embedded maps: 16 procedurally generated 2048 px JPEG textures (colour, normal and packed occlusion/roughness/metalness per surface family); vertex colours (COLOR_0) carry face detail, sole tint and soft occlusion. The vest is sleeveless, so on arm-down poses its shoulder edge separates from the sleeve by design. glb-lint reports 0 errors; its overall verdict reads 'unverified' only because no quality requirements contract was supplied. The rig test (scripts/rig-test.mjs) poses arms down 70°, forearms bent 90°, left thigh forward 45° and Spine1 twisted 20°: all vertices finite and in bounds, edge stretch p99.9 2.27x (max 2.53x), no layer crossings, prop rigid in the hand; the front capture was reviewed by eye.

About the Photographer 3D model

Photographer is a free realistic 3D model from the City and office characters set, rigged with a 65-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton. It measures 1.8 m × 1.8 m × 35 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 112,292 triangles across 14 meshes, with 13 named parts. Download the 21.1 MB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Photographer 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 21.1 MB: 112,292 triangles, 71,714 vertices and 14 materials, modelled in metres at 1.8 m × 1.8 m × 35 cm.
Is Photographer animated?
It ships without a baked clip, in its bind pose. It is rigged with a 65-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton, so it takes retargeted animation.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Photographer 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
