Taxi Driver

A stocky man in his sixties with a wry, lopsided grin, in a tan-and-olive checked short-sleeve shirt, belted grey trousers and brown moc-toe loafers, with his car keys hooked over his right index finger. Rigged in T-pose on the library's Mixamo-named skeleton, finger chains included.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A man, 60s, stocky, about 1.78 m tall. Wry grin expression. Wearing: checked short-sleeve shirt, grey trousers, loafers (plain fabrics, no logos, brand names or readable text). Palette: Tan, olive, grey. Prop: car keys, carried naturally and bound to the hand or arm bone that holds it. Realistic style. The rig test is judged by eye from dist/rig-test.png: in the bent pose every limb, sleeve and the prop must stay attached and deform with the body — verify the capture visually before reporting PASS.

Note: 65 bones, Mixamo names and hierarchy (mixamorig:Hips … HeadTop_End, arms, legs to Toe_End, and Thumb/Index/Middle/Ring/Pinky 1–4 on both hands); three.js loaders strip the colon (mixamorigHips). Bone frames follow the Mixamo habit (local +Y down the bone), and the bind pose is a T-pose with palms down. Every skinned mesh binds to the same 65 joint nodes; the exporter writes one glTF skin per mesh (8 skins, identical joint lists). Multi-material meshes (shirt+buttons, trousers+belt+buckle, shoes+soles, keys+fob+tag) import as one node with several primitives. The keys are a separate mesh weighted 100% to mixamorig:RightHand; the split ring loops over the right index finger, so curling that finger in an animation will pass through the ring. No animation clips. 103,780 triangles. PBR maps (colour, normal, packed AO/roughness/metalness) are drawn in code and embedded: 2048 px for skin, hair, shirt, trousers and shoes, 1024 px for eyes, leather accents and metal. Opaque maps are JPEG and the hair colour is PNG (alpha-tested), so the GLB is about 20 MB. The clothing is a shell with no body modelled underneath. The face is a procedural sculpt: it reads well at full-body distance, but in extreme close-ups the corners of the grin show small geometric steps. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 3 heuristic warnings (duplicate accent material entries, nested parts such as the eyes inside the head, keys not touching the ground); its overall verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract or realistic-character direction manifest exists.

About the Taxi Driver 3D model

Taxi Driver is a free realistic 3D model from the City and office characters set, rigged with a 65-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton. It measures 1.9 m × 1.8 m × 36 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 103,780 triangles across 14 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 19.2 MB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Taxi Driver 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 19.2 MB: 103,780 triangles, 106,671 vertices and 14 materials, modelled in metres at 1.9 m × 1.8 m × 36 cm.
Is Taxi Driver animated?
It ships without a baked clip, in its bind pose. It is rigged with a 65-bone Mixamo-compatible skeleton, so it takes retargeted animation.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Taxi Driver 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
