Tool chests
A low-poly red rolling tool chest: a five-drawer roller cabinet on casters with a side push bar, topped by a four-drawer top chest with a lid. One drawer is pulled out to show the wrenches and screwdrivers inside, and a birdhouse project sits on the lid.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Tool chests for the Garage Workshop kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Garage Workshop kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tools, projects and sawdust. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: concrete grey #757e8a, tool red #c32222, pegboard brown #6b4a2e, yellow #eecd2b, concrete grey dark #525860, tool red dark #821717, concrete grey light #a3a5a8, tool red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `projectType` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Project type" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.68 m wide (0.77 m including the side push bar), 0.48 m deep (0.66 m with the top drawer pulled out at the default) and 1.37 m tall to the lid, or 1.60 m including the birdhouse on top. The cabinet top is at 0.955 m. Origin: bottom centre, front facing +Z, resting on y = 0 on the four caster wheels. The GLB has 1,678 triangles in 34 meshes (merged per part and palette colour), is static and carries no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a Garage Workshop palette colour. The default build uses 11 of the 12 swatches; concrete grey appears only in the engine project. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults. projectType (the kit's 'Project type') picks what sits on the lid: 0–0.33 an engine block on a drip tray with an oil can, 0.33–0.67 a birdhouse with glue and sawdust (default), 0.67–1 a cordless drill and a socket case. width (0.56–1.0 m) scales the cabinet and top chest. drawerCount (3–7) sets the number of cabinet drawers, shallow at the top and deep at the bottom. drawerOpen pulls the top cabinet drawer out by up to 0.3 m. Both extremes (wide, 3 drawers, fully open, engine project; narrow, 7 drawers, closed, drill project) passed three-check. The lid is modelled closed and does not open. plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS). three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for this pipeline: per-mesh material instances that share palette names, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested caster parts overlapping, and flush-mounted parts (top cap, drawer fronts, items on the lid) flagged as detached because they touch a mesh in another part group.
About the Tool chests 3D model
Tool chests is a free low-poly 3D model from the Garage Workshop set. It measures 77 cm × 1.6 m × 69 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,678 triangles across 34 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 147 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Tool chests 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 147 KB: 1,678 triangles, 5,034 vertices and 34 materials, modelled in metres at 77 cm × 1.6 m × 69 cm.
- Can I animate Tool chests?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Tool chests 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
