Lawn mower

A low-poly walk-behind rotary lawn mower with a faceted tool-red deck, a grey engine shroud, a rear grass bag and a tall push handle with a yellow bail lever. In a seamless 4-second loop the wheels roll and the blade spins under the deck.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Lawn mower for the Garage Workshop kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Garage Workshop kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tools, projects and sawdust. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: concrete grey #757e8a, tool red #c32222, pegboard brown #6b4a2e, yellow #eecd2b, concrete grey dark #525860, tool red dark #821717, concrete grey light #a3a5a8, tool red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `projectType` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Project type" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 0.62 m wide over the wheels, 1.02 m tall at the handle grip and about 1.1 m long from the deck front to the grip, with a 0.5 m cutting deck. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint, the tyres rest on y = 0 and the deck front faces +Z. The exported model has 2,208 triangles (three-check's 2,498 includes the viewer's ground disc, which is not exported). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 8 of the 12 colours are used at the defaults. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The baked clip scene-motion (4 s, seamless) moves only the wheels and the blade. The front wheels roll five whole turns on their axles and the 1.25x larger rear wheels roll four, so all four tyres cover the same ground. The blade spins eight turns on the crankshaft spindle under the deck. The deck, engine, bag, handle and bail lever never move. The static node pose in the GLB is the t = 2 s frame, so the wheels and blade sit mid-loop there. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. projectType (the kit's 'Project type') sets the deck paint: 0-0.33 yellow (jobsite mower), 0.33-0.67 tool red (default, stock), 0.67 and up concrete grey (a stripped-to-primer restoration project). deckWidth scales the deck, blade and wheel track. handleHeight sets the grip height and the handle's rake. wheelRadius sets the front wheels, and the rear wheels follow at 1.25x. grassBag 0 swaps the bag for a rear discharge flap and keeps the bag part id. The geometry is adapted from the library's suburban-street-lawn-mower, recoloured for this kit. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: per-mesh duplicate materials, non-indexed geometry (intended, for flat shading), nested or overlapping parts (intended), and the shroud and bail flagged as detached because they rest on parts in other groups. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes on a copy with the slug's hyphens removed. Its part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires; three-check accepts them, and all 13 survive the GLB reload.

About the Lawn mower 3D model

Lawn mower is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Garage Workshop set. It measures 63 cm × 1.0 m × 1.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,208 triangles across 31 meshes, with 13 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 205 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Lawn mower 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 205 KB: 2,208 triangles, 4,291 vertices and 31 materials, modelled in metres at 63 cm × 1.0 m × 1.1 m.
Is Lawn mower animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Lawn mower 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
