Shelves
A low-poly freestanding garage shelving rack: grey angle-steel uprights, red step beams and four chipboard shelves loaded with yellow-lidded storage totes, paint tins, a red toolbox and spray cans, with a woodworking project clamped up on the top shelf.

Left rail: colours and the 3 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Shelves for the Garage Workshop kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Garage Workshop kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tools, projects and sawdust. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: concrete grey #757e8a, tool red #c32222, pegboard brown #6b4a2e, yellow #eecd2b, concrete grey dark #525860, tool red dark #821717, concrete grey light #a3a5a8, tool red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `projectType` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Project type" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.2 m wide × 0.5 m deep, 1.8 m to the upright caps; the top-shelf project reaches 1.94 m. Origin: bottom centre of the upright footprint, on y = 0, front facing +Z (the back X-brace stands 1 cm behind the rear uprights). The GLB has 1,278 triangles in 22 meshes (merged per part and palette colour), is static and carries no animation clip; three-check's 1,568 figure also counts the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a Garage Workshop palette colour, and the default build uses all 12. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults. projectType (the kit's 'Project type') picks what sits on the top shelf: 0–0.33 a spare wheel and a red oil can, 0.33–0.67 plank offcuts and a glued-up panel in an F-clamp with sawdust (default), 0.67–1 a half-painted birdhouse beside a paint tin. width (0.9–1.8 m) fits as many totes, tins and spray cans as there is room for. shelfCount (3–5) spreads the shelves evenly between 0.15 m and 1.74 m and caps item heights to the clear space. Rendered and checked at the defaults and at four param extremes (all PASS). plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS); three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected for this pipeline: per-mesh material instances that share palette names, non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested parts overlapping, and the top-shelf sawdust flagged as detached (it rests on the shelf board in another part group).
About the Shelves 3D model
Shelves is a free low-poly 3D model from the Garage Workshop set. It measures 1.2 m × 1.9 m × 52 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,278 triangles across 22 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 108 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Shelves 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 108 KB: 1,278 triangles, 3,834 vertices and 22 materials, modelled in metres at 1.2 m × 1.9 m × 52 cm.
- Can I animate Shelves?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Shelves 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
