Jetties

A low-poly timber T-jetty for the Fishing Harbour kit. A planked walkway with rope handrails runs on timber piles from a stone abutment to a T-head with bollards, tyre fenders, a ladder, a lamp and fish crates. Beside it, a hinged gangway leads down to a blue floating pontoon that rides the tide.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Jetties for the Fishing Harbour kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Fishing Harbour kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Boats, nets and a sea wall. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sea blue #2e67b8, boat colours #988e81, rope tan #bf9769, grey stone #9c958b, sea blue dark #1f457a, boat colours dark #70685c, sea blue light #6190d1, boat colours light #b6b3af, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `tide` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Tide" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 10.17 m wide (x) × 18.12 m long (z) × 7.15 m tall to the lamp top. The deck is 3.2 m above y = 0, which stands for the harbour bed, and the walkway is 2.6 m wide and 12 m long. The T-head (seaward front) faces +Z, and the stone abutment (shore end) is at −Z, where it is a flush cut that butts onto a sea wall. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint, and all piles and the abutment rest on y = 0. No water is modelled. tide (the kit's 'Tide') sets the pontoon deck between 0.9 m and deckHeight − 0.5 m above the bed. The 5 m gangway re-angles to land on the pontoon, and the dark wet bands on the abutment, the T-head's front piles and the guide piles rise to the water line. The pontoon hangs on steel collars around its two guide piles and does not touch the ground, as a floating pontoon should. The GLB has 4,004 triangles in 28 meshes (one per part and colour), is static and carries no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after one of the 12 kit palette colours, and all 12 appear at the default. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extremes, all-min (3,476 triangles) and all-max (4,796 triangles), passed three-check. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: duplicate material names (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat shading, overlapping sibling boxes (wet bands and joints on their supports), 'detached' heuristics because each part is a merged mesh, and the scale check for a subject taller than 1 m. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan passes with the slug de-hyphenated, and three-check and the GLB keep all 9 ids. There were two visual fix rounds: the first darkened the piles' wet bands and made the pontoon read blue, and the second loosened the hero framing so the front corner no longer crops.

About the Jetties 3D model

Jetties is a free low-poly 3D model from the Fishing Harbour set. It measures 10 m × 7.2 m × 18 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,004 triangles across 28 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 404 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Jetties 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 404 KB: 4,004 triangles, 12,012 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 10 m × 7.2 m × 18 m.
Can I animate Jetties?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Jetties 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
