Crane
A low-poly quayside jib crane for a fishing harbour: a dressed grey stone plinth with a blue post, a slewing winch house with a timber counterweight and a short mast, and a blue box-girder jib on wire ties lifting a fish box in a rope sling. A seamless 8 s loop slews, luffs, hoists and sways the load while the plinth and post stay still.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Crane for the Fishing Harbour kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Fishing Harbour kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Boats, nets and a sea wall. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sea blue #2e67b8, boat colours #988e81, rope tan #bf9769, grey stone #9c958b, sea blue dark #1f457a, boat colours dark #70685c, sea blue light #6190d1, boat colours light #b6b3af, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `tide` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Tide" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale in metres: 9.7 m tall at rest (the jib tip rises and falls as it luffs). The stone plinth is 3.2 m square and the slewing axis is at the origin; the jib is 8 m long and faces +Z at rest. 1,732 triangles across 32 primitives, materials named exactly after the Fishing Harbour palette colours. The baked 8 s clip (scene-motion) slews the house ±55°, luffs the jib 24–40° on its foot pin, stretches the ties from the mast sheave, hoists the hook from the tip sheave axle and sways it. The plinth and post never move. The Tide param raises the wet band on the plinth and sets how deep the hook drops (lower tide means a deeper drop). The GLB is baked at the defaults (tide 0.5, jib 8 m, sweep 55°), so changing a param needs a re-export. glb-lint reports 0 errors; its UNVERIFIED verdict only means no requirements contract was supplied, and its scale warning assumes a 1 m object. plan-check rejects hyphenated part ids, so the plan was checked on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS).
About the Crane 3D model
Crane is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Fishing Harbour set. It measures 9.8 m × 9.7 m × 7.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,732 triangles across 32 meshes, with 8 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 178 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Crane 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 178 KB: 1,732 triangles, 5,196 vertices and 32 materials, modelled in metres at 9.8 m × 9.7 m × 7.2 m.
- Is Crane animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Crane 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
