Ice boxes
A low-poly harbour fish tub: a thick-walled sea-blue insulated ice box on two timber bearers, its hinged lid open over crushed ice with the catch laid on top, plus a small white cool box with a blue lid beside it.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Ice boxes for the Fishing Harbour kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Fishing Harbour kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Boats, nets and a sea wall. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sea blue #2e67b8, boat colours #988e81, rope tan #bf9769, grey stone #9c958b, sea blue dark #1f457a, boat colours dark #70685c, sea blue light #6190d1, boat colours light #b6b3af, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `tide` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Tide" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 1.91 m wide (x) × 0.89 m deep (z) × 1.49 m tall with the lid open at 72°. Closed, it is about 0.81 m tall. The tub is 1.10 × 0.75 × 0.62 m with 6 cm insulated walls and stands on 0.10 m timber bearers. The cool box is 0.56 × 0.36 × 0.37 m, and the fish are about 0.4 m long. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint (the swinging lid is left out of the centring), resting on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 1,252 triangles in 19 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; 10 of the 12 kit colours are used (grey stone and boat colours are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. There is no text or brand mark. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. tide (the kit's 'Tide') is the wet mark: everything below the tide line darkens one palette step, split exactly on the geometry. The line is eased (0.3·t² m): 0.075 m at the default (the bearers' feet and the cool box foot) and 0.30 m at 1 (into the tub's lower walls). The model carries no water itself. lidOpen swings the lid on its hinges from 0 to 100°. iceFill raises the ice bed and the catch, capped below the rim so a closed lid never cuts the fish. size scales everything (0.85–1.15). glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected: material count and duplicate names (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat shading, sibling overlap (ice inside the tub, rope through the handle blocks, lid panels), and 'detached' meshes. Those are the dry halves of tide-split pieces and hinge and latch fittings that sit against other parts' meshes, because the lint only tests contact between meshes of the same part. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 9 survive the GLB reload. Fix rounds: (1) the rubber latch straps moved from the lid onto the tub front, because they stuck up off the open lid like handles; the fish were enlarged and changed from sea blue light to sea blue dark so they read against the ice; (2) the hero elevation went from 32° to 40° to show the catch over the front wall.
About the Ice boxes 3D model
Ice boxes is a free low-poly 3D model from the Fishing Harbour set. It measures 1.9 m × 1.5 m × 89 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,252 triangles across 19 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 105 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Ice boxes 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 105 KB: 1,252 triangles, 3,756 vertices and 19 materials, modelled in metres at 1.9 m × 1.5 m × 89 cm.
- Can I animate Ice boxes?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Ice boxes 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
