Overhead crane
A low-poly free-standing double-girder overhead crane: four steel columns carry a runway, a yellow bridge rolls along it, and a green hoist trolley lifts a pallet of product crates. It comes with a seamless 10-second pick-and-carry loop.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Overhead crane for the Factory Floor kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Factory Floor kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A production hall at full speed. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: machine green #3a883a, safety yellow #ffdd33, concrete #a39e99, steel #7e8c9a, machine green dark #235223, safety yellow dark #e6bf00, machine green light #5db15d, safety yellow light #ffea80, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `productMade` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Product made" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 7.54 m tall to the trolley beacon (runway rail top at 5.0 m, girder top at 6.4 m), about 9.2 m wide across the bridge drive motors and 8.1 m deep along the runway, at the default 8 m span. The origin is at the bottom centre, the column footings rest on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 3,058 triangles. Every material is named exactly after a Factory Floor palette colour, and all 12 are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name repeats across materials: recolour by name. The GLB holds one baked 10 s seamless clip, 'scene-motion'. In it the hoist lifts the pallet off the floor, the bridge rolls along the runway while the trolley crosses the span, the pallet is set down on the opposite side, then lifted and carried back. Bridge and trolley wheels roll by the distance travelled, the drum turns with the rope paid out, and the two rope falls stretch by node scale (the clip carries scale tracks). The columns, runway and tie beams never move. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the model only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer: span sets the column spacing, girder length and travel; runwayHeight raises the runway and everything above it; productMade (the kit's 'Product made') sets how many product crates ride on the pallet, 1 at 0, 3 at the default and 4 at 1. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict prints UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. Its 6 heuristic warnings are expected for this build: material count and duplicate materials (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, deliberate nesting (bolts, bands and brackets set into their hosts), the rope falls and beacon flagged 'detached' because they hang from or sit on a different part, and height against the direction's 1 m reference. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 17 survive the GLB reload.
About the Overhead crane 3D model
Overhead crane is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Factory Floor set. It measures 9.2 m × 7.5 m × 8.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,058 triangles across 50 meshes, with 17 named parts and a baked animation (10.0 s). Download the 318 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Overhead crane 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 318 KB: 3,058 triangles, 9,174 vertices and 50 materials, modelled in metres at 9.2 m × 7.5 m × 8.0 m.
- Is Overhead crane animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (10.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Overhead crane 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
