Tool carts

A low-poly three-tier workshop tool cart: lipped green steel trays on four posts and castors, with a yellow push handle, a two-drawer cabinet with the top drawer pulled out, hand tools on a rubber mat and a tote of finished parts on the bottom shelf.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tool carts for the Factory Floor kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Factory Floor kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A production hall at full speed. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: machine green #3a883a, safety yellow #ffdd33, concrete #a39e99, steel #7e8c9a, machine green dark #235223, safety yellow dark #e6bf00, machine green light #5db15d, safety yellow light #ffea80, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `productMade` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Product made" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.11 m long including the push handle (0.9 m trays, cartLength), 0.65 m deep with the top drawer at its default opening (0.55 m closed), and 1.02 m tall to the top of the handle; the top tray sits at 0.9 m. Castors have 125 mm tyres. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint, the tyres rest on y = 0 and the drawer fronts face +Z; the handle is at the +X end. The GLB has 2,386 triangles and no animation clip; it is a static asset. 11 of the 12 kit colours are used (concrete is not), and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name repeats across materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. cartLength stretches the trays and frame, handleHeight raises the grip, and drawerOpen slides the top drawer out to 26 cm, showing sockets inside. productMade (the kit's 'Product made') fills the parts tote on the bottom shelf with finished steel parts: 0 leaves it empty, the default holds 6, and 1 holds 12. Meshes are merged per part and colour, so the drawers are a separate part but not rigged to slide in an engine. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict prints UNVERIFIED because 5 rules need a requirements contract or a manual review, plus 3 heuristic warnings (per-mesh duplicate materials and deliberately nested boxes such as posts biting into tray lips). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; a copy with the hyphens removed passes, and three-check accepts the ids, all 9 of which survive the GLB reload.

About the Tool carts 3D model

Tool carts is a free low-poly 3D model from the Factory Floor set. It measures 1.1 m × 1.0 m × 65 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,096 triangles across 29 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 113 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tool carts 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 113 KB: 2,096 triangles, 3,040 vertices and 29 materials, modelled in metres at 1.1 m × 1.0 m × 65 cm.
Can I animate Tool carts?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tool carts 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
