Trace roads

A seamless 4 x 4 m circuit-board street tile for the Circuit City kit: copper traces run as roads across a green solder-mask ground, with plated pads as roundabouts, silkscreen lane markings and a bright 45 degree chevron cutting the central plaza. Eight raised board-green city blocks with pale kerbs, shield cans and LED street lamps surround it.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Trace roads for the Circuit City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Circuit City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The inside of a computer as a city. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: board green #3a883a, gold traces #d0a225, black chips #151619, led colours #988e81, board green dark #235223, gold traces dark #8f7019, board green light #5db15d, gold traces light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ledColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "LED colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Exactly 4.00 x 4.00 m in plan and 0.448 m tall at the lamp heads; the origin is the tile centre and the bottom sits on y = 0. It tiles seamlessly in all four directions: every through road meets the +X/-X (or +Z/-Z) border at the same offset, width and height; blocks run right out to the border with no kerb on that side, so two half-blocks merge into one whole block across a seam; and the lane-dash run is phase-locked to a 0.5 m grid anchored to the border. The chevron, lamps, cabinets, cans and pad fields stay wholly inside the footprint, so neighbours never collide. Static asset — evaluatePose is a no-op and the GLB carries no animation clip. 3752 triangles, 12 draw calls, 12 materials each named exactly after its Circuit City palette colour (one merged mesh per material per part). `ledColours` changes which lamp heads and chevron marker studs take the 'led colours' material (and how hard it glows) rather than blending any colour, so palette names stay exact at every value; all four params were rendered at both ends of their range and the tile stays valid. Part ids use the compact `traceroads.*` root because the plan checker requires an alphanumeric first segment. glb-lint reports no errors; its four warnings are understood and intended: 12 materials against the direction's default_max of 10 (declared as an override in design-plan.md, since the kit palette has to travel by name), nested via rings over their drill caps and lamp posts under their heads, per-part merged meshes having no sibling to 'touch', and a 0.448 m height against a 1 m reference, which is right for a ground tile.
