Bus tram

A low-poly tram-bus for the Circuit City kit: a 12 m green body with a black window band, gold PCB-trace livery ending in via pads, IC-chip roof pods and a raised pantograph. It comes with an 8-second loop where it brakes, swings its curb-side doors open and closed, then pulls away.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Bus tram for the Circuit City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Circuit City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The inside of a computer as a city. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: board green #3a883a, gold traces #d0a225, black chips #151619, led colours #988e81, board green dark #235223, gold traces dark #8f7019, board green light #5db15d, gold traces light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ledColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "LED colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real scale: 12.0 m long × 2.55 m wide × 2.93 m to the roof, 3.2 m over the chip pods, about 4.3 m with the pantograph raised. Origin is at the bottom centre, the front faces +Z and the four tyres rest on y = 0. 3,272 triangles and 10 materials, each named exactly as its Circuit City palette colour (role in material extras). The doors are on the -X side (the kerb side for right-hand traffic). The clip 'scene-motion' (8 s, seamless) is baked rigid transforms: the wheels spin on their axle pivots (they come to a full stop while the doors are open), the door leaves swing about their jamb hinges, and the pantograph arms rotate about their base, knee and head hinges. The body never moves. The GLB's static node pose is the frame at t = 2 s, so the wheels are part-way through a turn and the doors are shut. ledColours sets how strongly the 'led colours' material glows; the GLB stores it as that material's emissive value at export time, using the optional KHR_materials_emissive_strength extension (not required to load the file). length, traceLines and pantographLift rebuild the geometry, so a downloaded GLB keeps whatever values it was exported with. The pantograph has no overhead wire, so its head is free at the top. Assembly groups use hyphen-free ids (bustram.chassis, bustram.running, bustram.doors, bustram.roofgear) because the kit's plan checker requires them. Every leaf part uses the library id form circuit-city-bus-tram.*.
