Jumper cables

A low-poly set of jumper cables for the Circuit City kit: a gold and a black cable wound into a strapped coil, with four alligator clamps fanned out in front.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Jumper cables for the Circuit City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Circuit City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The inside of a computer as a city. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: board green #3a883a, gold traces #d0a225, black chips #151619, led colours #988e81, board green dark #235223, gold traces dark #8f7019, board green light #5db15d, gold traces light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ledColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "LED colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale: 0.65 m wide × 0.06 m tall × 0.645 m deep (≈3.0–3.4 m of 17 mm cable per lead, 0.175 m clamps), origin at bottom centre, resting on y = 0, front facing +Z. 4,496 triangles, static (no animation clip). Materials are named by their Circuit City palette colour: gold traces = positive cable, gold traces dark = positive clamp sleeves, black chips = negative cable, soot black = negative clamp sleeves, mid grey = jaws and pivot rivets, board green = coil strap, gold traces light = strap buckle, led colours = polarity LED on each clamp. The exporter writes one material copy per mesh (28 material entries, 8 distinct names); recolour by name. ledColours (LED colours) sets the LED's emissive strength and survives in the GLB as emissiveFactor; coilLevels, coilRadius and jawOpen change the geometry before export, and the default export has the jaws 30% open. Each clamp's moving lever is its own node, pivoting about Y at the rivet, so you can re-open the jaws in an engine. Facets are baked as non-indexed flat normals, so the low-poly look holds in any engine. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 warnings: material copies, non-indexed geometry, overlapping cable bounding boxes, and a height far below the 1 m reference, all expected for this asset. Its overall verdict is UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. The kit's plan-check rejects hyphenated part ids, so the plan fails only on the library's required circuit-city-jumper-cables.* ids.
