Flower boxes
A low-poly terracotta window box for a canal-side palazzo, held on two black iron sill straps. Red, pink and white geraniums grow from it, and ivy trails down the front.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Flower boxes for the Canal City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Canal City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A trading city of bridges and palaces. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: terracotta #be5937, canal green #3a883a, stone white #f4f1ec, carnival gold #d0a225, terracotta dark #823d26, canal green dark #235223, terracotta light #d08971, canal green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 1.04 m wide (x) × 0.28 m deep (z) × 0.48 m tall, including the flowers. The trough is 1.0 m long at the top and 0.24 m deep, and tapers to 0.95 × 0.20 m at its foot. It is 0.22 m tall to the rim top and stands 2 cm up on the iron straps. The origin is at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0, and the front (with the ivy) faces +Z. The GLB has 3,220 triangles in 15 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; 10 of the 12 kit colours are used (warm white and mid grey are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the defaults were rendered and checked. waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') is the acqua alta damp line on the clay: below 0.2·w² m the trough turns canal green dark, split exactly on the geometry rather than painted. That is 0.05 m at the default (a band along the foot) and 0.2 m at 1, just under the rim. The relief panels darken only once the line passes their middle. The iron straps are not stained, and the model carries no water itself. length sets the trough length (0.6–1.4 m), and the number of relief panels follows it. plants sets 2–6 geranium clumps, spaced evenly. trail sets how far the ivy hangs: 0 removes it, and 1 reaches about 6 cm above the ground. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected: material count and duplicate names (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat shading, sibling overlap (the soil and leaf mounds are nested in the rim and trough by design), and scale (a 0.48 m prop against a 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload. Fix round 1: the ivy was made denser, with bigger leaves on both sides of a visible vine, and its first leaf now lies on the rim. The iron uprights were also raised to 0.17 m so they read as straps.
About the Flower boxes 3D model
Flower boxes is a free low-poly 3D model from the Canal City set. It measures 1.0 m × 48 cm × 29 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,220 triangles across 15 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 240 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Flower boxes 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 240 KB: 3,220 triangles, 9,660 vertices and 15 materials, modelled in metres at 1.0 m × 48 cm × 29 cm.
- Can I animate Flower boxes?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Flower boxes 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
