Fabric bolts
A low-poly cloth merchant's display bench stacked with a pyramid of rolled fabric bolts in Canal City colours. The bolts are tied with gold bands, and the front green bolt is untied, its cloth spilling over the bench edge.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Fabric bolts for the Canal City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Canal City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A trading city of bridges and palaces. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: terracotta #be5937, canal green #3a883a, stone white #f4f1ec, carnival gold #d0a225, terracotta dark #823d26, canal green dark #235223, terracotta light #d08971, canal green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 1.26 m wide (x) × 0.71 m deep (z, including the hanging cloth) × 1.04 m tall. The bench is 1.26 × 0.64 m with its top at 0.55 m. The bolts are 1.0 m long and 18 cm across, stacked 3-2-1. The origin is at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 1,340 triangles in 16 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour; 10 of the 12 kit colours are used (warm white and soot black are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The defaults and both extremes were rendered and passed three-check. waterLevel (the kit's 'Water level') is the acqua alta mark on the bench legs and low stretchers: below the tide line they turn canal green dark, split exactly on the geometry. The line is eased (0.4·w² m): 0 at 0, 0.10 m at the default, 0.40 m at 1. rows sets the pyramid at 2–4 rows (3–10 bolts), and the bench deepens to fit. unrolled sets how far the front bolt's cloth hangs over the bench edge; at 0 the loose end just lies on the bench top. boltLength (0.7–1.3 m) sets the cloth width, and the bench widens with it. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings, all expected. They are: material count and duplicate names (one material per mesh), non-indexed flat shading, sibling overlap (bolts nest against each other, and the roll cores run through them by design), and 'detached' parts. The lint only tests contact within the same part, but the cores sit inside the bolts, the cloth lies on the front bolt and bench, and the bench top rests exactly on its legs. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 6 survive the GLB reload. Fix rounds: (1) mitred cloth offsets to remove a seam line at the bench-edge fold, and a looser hero (margin 1.02) so the legs clear the export buttons; (2) the drape and tie parts now exist across every param value (rows minimum 2; at unrolled 0 the cloth lies flat).
About the Fabric bolts 3D model
Fabric bolts is a free low-poly 3D model from the Canal City set. It measures 1.3 m × 1.0 m × 71 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,340 triangles across 16 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 108 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Fabric bolts 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 108 KB: 1,340 triangles, 4,020 vertices and 16 materials, modelled in metres at 1.3 m × 1.0 m × 71 cm.
- Can I animate Fabric bolts?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Fabric bolts 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
